Arguably the best Italian in Cork City. Lovely setting, beautiful food - the Lasagna was gorgeous - and enjoyable meal. Staff were friendly and professional.

I went here for dinner on Friday 17th September with a friend. I rang a week in advance to book a table, and was advised you cannot book in advance, that it is first come, first served. We turned up Friday evening and were told...we required a reservation, and i explained our situation. The waiter was a bit hesitant, but did have a table free outside, and let us sit there thankfully. It was increidbly busy, and the staff were up the walls. We got our meals which were just fantastic and excellent to eat. The table beside us waited 1 hour for their main course. It was desparate, however it was what the restaurant did, to make up for it was just surreal. They aplogised profusely of course, but they gave the people free drinks and free desserts on the house also, and that really made it for me. To try accommodate us firstly without a reservation and then make up for the delay in food was just excellent. I will definitely return. And thank you to the kind staffMore

Not only is this a great Italian restaurant, but we were able to be seated when most places in Cork were full. It’s a little off the beaten path, which is why I think it hadn’t been noticed by as many patrons. The service was...really good and we enjoyed an excellent wine.More

Il Padrino is one of the old reliable restaurants in Cork and when it comes to authentic Italian cuisine they don't come much better than Il Padrino. We were not surprised to see careful adherence to the Covid 19 restrictions - so well done to...all concerned. We like to eat in Il Padrino whenever we visit the city because here ambience, service and superb cuisine combine to provide a memorable eating experience. We couldn't resist ordering a serving of olives to start, then for starters I had the vegetarian bruschetta while my wife opted for the baked brie. Il Padrino does great pizzas and the vegetarian pizza was excellent my wife was tempted by the Lasagne al Pollo and was not disapointed. A bottle of Nero D'Avola represented great value. We were absolutely delighted with all aspects of our experience and we are looking forward already to a return visit!More

Service was good. Kids enjoyed their food (lasagne was huge!). Steak was lukewarm and chips were cold (I would advise against blaming the wind on that in future as even the first one was cold and first bite of meat was luke warm!)

Very tasty food and very friendly staff. Some staff a bit clumsy but that did not impact our meal. The tomato soup was really great. Very tasty and moreish. The pizza was delicious especially with extra mozzarella. My friend loved his pasta dish with chicken....There was a mix up with the bill but manager sorted that out quickly and offered us a complimentary drink. Would definitely go back. Well done!More

This restaurant is tucked in a little side street and could easily be overlooked. We had dinner here and the staff were prompt and attentive. The ambience and decor is very cosy and social distancing requirements were met without it seeming empty or stark. The...food was tasty and presented attractively. Very enjoyable.More

Amazing service with very attentive servers. My daughter who’s 9 year and I went to this restaurant this evening. I honestly cannot fault it in any way. The attention the server gave us was second to none. When my daughter dropped her fork she had...a clean one at her table in seconds. Also I was able to have a half portion of the pasta I wanted. This meant I could really enjoy it and not be stuffed.More
