Was here for dinner last night with the lovely Ursula.
What can I say? Six course meal, a luxurious holiday for the taste buds!
Exquisite little dishes sculpted by a chef who knows what exactly they’re doing. Gordon Ramsay eat your heart out!
The staff are superb, the nicest most pleasant and charming people you could meet.
It was very busy but our service level was excellent, just right between courses.
I can’t praise this menu enough. It’s not the cheapest in town and the staff do explain to people coming in about the cost which I think is great, before the customers sit down and then decide to leave.
I have never experienced a crafted menu like this before. Ursula was also delighted with it. Each course is completely different and unique.
Paradiso has been in existence 30 years and I cannot believe I never went here before.
By the way, it’s vegetarian but the food is so delicious, you wouldn’t even miss a meat dish if you’re a carnivore!
Top top recommendation from me!

I went with a friend to paradiso because it had been recommended on a few travel websites. I could not recommend this place enough. It resulted in a truly exceptional night out.
The service was fantastic, the staff were all friendly, and the atmosphere was formal enough to feel like you were having a good night out whilst staying relatively relaxed. The food came in six small servings, definitely enough for one person, with each portion having a distinct flavour, texture, and presentation. Despite all the food being vegetarian, it did not feel like the food was made to try to recreate the flavours of meat, but instead create entirely new plant-based dishes. As a result, I had a range of entirely new experiences with fantastic vegetarian food.
The price of the food (65 euros for 6 courses) felt fully justified after having eaten there. Whilst I am normally not a fan of wine, my friend and I each had a glass which had been recommended to us by the waiter. The wine was very refreshing and did not overpower the food. The wine selection was great as well- it was very broad.
I would definitely go again, and recommend to anyone staying in Cork.

Stepping off the street on a cold January evening, we were struck by the quiet elegance of this stylish restaurant and the warmth of the team welcoming us in. There was a sense of expectation and the staff were clearly excited to see our reactions to the parade of six courses on their tasting menu. Dish after beautiful dish was carried from the kitchen and delivered to our table with a flourish. The wine list was interesting and reasonable, and there were temptations for every taste including several “natural” wines. (All can be ordered by the glass if you want to pair with the food.)
Each course was sublime, the menu cleverly building from the lightest coconut broth, a wonderful smoked tofu bite and a tiny beetroot wafer, through to a rich turnip and chestnut galette with a port and beetroot sauce we wanted to lick off the plate. In addition to all the wonderful tasted in between, dessert was perfect finale of roast pear, a light silky chocolate ganache with chipotle chilli and a pumpkin seed crumb. Every mouthful was an adventure, as we tried to identify all the flavours and textures. This was a masterclass in brilliant cooking, perfect seasoning and inventive presentation.
Definitely eat here if you are travelling nearby. Or far away. Worth the detour from, say, London.

The food at the Paradiso is superb. They supply 6 courses of vegetarian delights, which are wonderfully cooked and collated with delicious sauces. The ambience is convivial, with tables well spaced and the service was first rate. The big problem is that the portions are just too sparce - too small. I came away hungry. It was not just me, my 3 companions felt the same. If you are paying €68 for a meal, before wine & service, you should not come away hungry. I had to cook up a scrambled egg when I got home!

Amazing food, excellent service and very moorish wine!
Staff were attentive and kind, even going as far as showing us how they prepare some of their dishes. We actually had fun exploring the menu and trying to figure out the different flavours.
It’s no wonder this restaurant is operating since 1993.
Go in with an open mind, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic Experience
We had a six course set menu and a bonus bread course!! The food had a lot of varied tastes, textures and sublime sauces! The orange wine was top notch. The highlight was the great service which was the right about of efficiency without being too intrusive. We forgot how great Paradiso was and we will not leave it so long to return again.

We had dinner here on Wednesday last 27th March. Myself and two friends. Unfortunately one of our party got delayed and arrived 45mins late. And while this would be a problem for any restaurant, the staff were really great - fully understanding and treated us superbly. And then when we got to eat our food - what an experience. Top quality food experience - taste, flavours, variety etc.
Can’t wait to return.
Thank you

What a wonderful treat! Neither my husband or myself are officially vegetarian and I thought this restaurant might be a bit of a challenge for him! In fact the 6-course taster menu was one of the most creative and tasty dinners out we’ve had in a long while. Fun when you have to look up some of the ingredients because you’ve never heard of them before….such as “dandan”. The combination of flavours was great eg roasted cauliflower with cashew korma, samphire and pickled walnuts; beetroot risotto with nettle broth, orange and pine nut. The presentation and service are also faultless. Good to have a flight of wines to accompany the meal if you want to relish the treat fully. I think an Irish Times review from the springtime may have described this restaurant as creating dishes that make one forget meat ever existed…..I see what they mean!

I hadn't been to Cafe Paradiso in about 8 years but the place has always been on my mind for a revisit. Our dinner last Saturday was so worth the wait. I love the new selection of 3 x 3 dishes. We had them with a deliciously chilled Pinot Noir. The cooking here is so exceptional you forget it's 'vegetarian', the flavours are satisfying, complex and refined. Every experience here is memorable and incredibly good value when you consider the quality of ingredients and the magical craft of the kitchen staff. Service is friendly, informal but informed and professional. If you're in Cork you simply must come.

Visited Paradiso with my partner in early October. The restaurant is quaint but comfortable and tastefully decorated. The set menu of three courses for €48 was very reasonably priced. We shared a bottle of Gran Cerdo Rioja which was quite possibly the best wine we have ever had in a restaurant. Having my reservations about a meal with no meat, I was sceptical wether I would leave hungry but was I wrong! Portion sizes were very adequate and the flavours and textures of each dish was a joy to the palette. Service was extremely prompt and attentive and I would have absolutely no reservations in returning or recommending Paradiso. A truly educational experience which has encouraged me to cook more vegetarian meals at home.

My partner and I love food, both cooking meals and eating out together, so on our vacation to Ireland we wanted to go to a nice restaurant for a lovely meal. He chose Paradiso, and WOW did we love it!! Every course was so delicious and creative I wanted to lick my plate clean. My partner got the wine pairing and absolutely loved it. We had such a wonderful time we bought the cookbook so that we could try to replicate some of the components at home. Thanks for an excellent meal and dining experience!!

Vegetarian restaurant Paradiso in Cork, Ireland is a true pioneer. Already 31 years ago they were showing that you can eat delicious and innovative food without meat, long before it was the thing. Keep up the good work!

Service was spectacular and the food was exquisite! I called ahead to tell them I’m celiac and they were well-prepared when I arrived. Each course was adapted to be safe and nothing was compromised. We chose the wine pairings, which I highly recommend. My husband is not the least bit interested in being vegetarian, but was thoroughly pleased and so pleasantly surprised by every course. While each course is small, it’s very filling, so arrive hungry.

Ans what a delight, my sons took me there my first trip back to Cork post Pandemic. Delightful to be welcomed by Stephen, then the tasting Menu, all nine dishes were delicious, what a clever way to give people the opertunity to tase so many differen dishes, all with their own special taste too, a very far cry from Scrambled eggs, which seemed to be as much as most restaurants could come up with in the 70s!!!when being a vegetarian was seen as a bit Odd!! Hha I liked the decor too, All in all a superb Birthhday Great Company, Delicious food, as well as being in Cork You dont have to be a vegetarian to enjoy that food soexperience this next time your wanting to enjoy a superb evening. Thank you E Cole.

We have been going to this restaurant since 2000 and it has been consistently excellent on all fronts - food, service and general ambiance. As vegetarians this is our go to restaurant for special occasions or when we have visits from close friends and family. We are never rushed and the food is inventive, seasonal and most importantly tasty.
