Went here with my wife a few years ago. One of her favorite spots to hit while she attended UCC. Great sandwiches and a relaxed at atmosphere in the heart of cork!

I work locally and my colleagues and I get 10 o clock lunch here daily. I get the open soda with turkey, coleslaw, egg and beetroot. Delicious, healthy and sets me up for the day ahead. The staff are all lovely too. One day when I put...my hand in my pockets and groped for a wallet that wasn't there I was told no problem, drop it in when your passing. Great food and service.More

Visited with my family. The made to order sandwiches were great. I recommend the toasted special. Free tea refills. Reasonably priced.

We have heard breakfast here about 15 times. My wife and I always have the mini Irish and our son has the full Irish. It has always been cooked to perfection. It includes a large coffee and a refill, I always have decaf. We have...never been disappointed. Looking forward to returning. We only go there about once or twice a year. The cheap price is a bonus but it's not the reason we go there.More

Well it was actually Brackens in Blackpool that my Daughter and I visited recently for lunch. We did not have a good experience in Paul Street so we were a little apprehensive but we were pleasantly surprised. It is small but we got a nice...table. The menu is very good with a great choice. I had homemade quiche with salad and my Daughter had a brown chicken salad sandwich. We had a pot of tea between us.The food was delicious and tasty. The staff were nice and friendly. The cakes looked divine but we were too full to have any. We will definitely be back.More

Having perused the streets of Cork with the craving for a nice breakfast fry, my partner and I came across Bracken's which had advertised an all day breakfast for just €7, so we thought we'd give it a try. Upon entering this extremely crammed small...space that had no clean table free, we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt as it seemed so busy and had to seat ourselves down to then have to ask the staff to take away the dirty tray from the table. The moment the fry came out- which was worryingly fast, we were overcome with disappointment as it just had sausages, rashers, an egg and pudding. We were led to believe that there would be beans, hash browns and mushrooms also... This was honestly the WORST fry I have EVER tasted!!! I mean, how can you make a fry so bad??! The sausages, rashers and pudding were all actually re-heated as they were just sitting in their deli section, which we should have been told when ordering the fry that it was all re-heated. Had we known this, we probably would have went elsewhere. I have never tasted black pudding as bad as that. It was absolutely disgusting and the sausages were borderline stale. The tea that was served with it was also clearly some extremely cheap brand of tea that was also a huge disappointment. Safe to say I will never be returning to this place and will be warning my friends to steer clear also. So annoyed at myself for actually staying there and even tasting the horrendous food. Absolute disgrace being allowed to serve and sell food in that state. Such a dirty place too.. food poisioning eat your heart out!More

Went here this morning and we are fuming to say the least. We ordered 2 full breakfasts which were much smaller than anywhere else i have been. The pudding tasted gone off and we thought everything tasted reheated only to realize when we were leaving...that it had been reheated as we saw the pre cooked meat all sitting in bowls at the deli counter this is completely unacceptable as customers should be notified that their food is not being freshly cooked. I have never been given a reheated breakfast in my life and have been to hundreds of cafes and restaurants the fact we had to pay before we ate is a bit ridiculous too as in all other cafes in the area you pay if your meal is satisfactory. We will not be returning as there are many other cafes in the area were this would never happen.More

There is an very good choice of breads and sandwich fillings. Good service but the tables, chairs and floor were not clean. The place felt and looked old and tired. It is a shame as it has so much to offer and it is in...a prime locationMore

We made the mistake of popping into Bracken's earlier today and it will be the first and last time we will ever visit. We walked in and immediately we could see that the place was absolutely filthy with dirt and crumbs. We stood up inside...the door for a few minutes waiting to be seated or to have one of the many filthy tables cleared for us. This didn't happen. We were ignored and eventually we spotted a menu and had a look and sat ourselves down. The two girls didn't even greet us or offer any sort of assistance to get us settled. We both got bad vibes and decided to leave. Thankfully we found another cafe close by called Dukes on Careys Lane which was clean, had menus and friendly staff.More
