I have never eaten in at the Tung Sing but it is a regular for our take outs at the weekends, the food is very good

We were looking for a place to eat quick on our way to Blarney Castle. We stopped in here and I had sweet and sour chicken. The taste was good but it was a lot of breading and not as much meat. Overall and nice visit and the service was good.

A few years since we ate here last and not much has changed. Apart from a good starter of Salt&Chili Prawns, the rest of the meal was fairly average, fried rice being really poor. Service was inattentive despite plenty of staff on site. This premises is a bit more tired than our last visit and now badly needs an injection of new blood and attitude. We won't visit again until there is new ownership.

I suggested to my friends, whom I meet every week and we try different places to eat.
All do we have Chinese restaurant in my town I decided we would try here for a change.
I and the other girls ordered spring rolls.
They tasted old,and reheated.
Both of us ordered breast of chicken, chips and there was vegetable and a little side salad.
The chicken was reheated,tough and tasted like it was 2 days old.
We both looked at each other and said how disgusting it was and both of us just left it.
At this stage I decided to complain.
The waitress was lovely and friendly and certainly wasn't surprised at our complaints on both courses.
To eat out now days is a treat,and with the cost of all food now the prices of course went up,but I'm not going to eat what's not to an ordinary standard, pay and say nothing.
My money is valuable and I expect top quality food for the increase in prices.
I would highly NOT recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant needs to up their game,I'm looking for fresh cooked food.
This isn't what I got.
Very disappointed 😞
I definitely will NEVER go back.
Or the other 3 girls I was with will go back.

Well what can I say but DISAPPOINTED ☹️.
Went with a family group to celebrate a birthday. Staff I must say were not the nicest, I could tell from the start it was going to be ‘ get this party in and out quick’.
Prawn crackers came out , we didn’t even get side plates , even when we asked we still didn’t get them .
Orders were taken , in fairness the starters were out really fast , followed by the mains.
It’s the mains I must say we’re just so plain and not like the Tung Sing I remember.
Fried rice came out on your plate ( always loved the rice bowl in Chinese so u can share ) but not here plonked on plates . I had vegetarian curry now I must say in was bland ,so unusual for a Chinese,I always love their curries . Noticed a lot of food was left on plates of my family &friends.
The cod was frozen cod , well cooked maybe over cooked , definitely didn’t except the way this came out ,2 pieces up on top of a portion of chip ( it looked terrible) and tasted terrible.
Well the coffees were nice .
I have to say I won’t be back .
It’s so sad because one of my favorite places to eat is Tung Sing in Patrick Street.

By far the best Chinese we’ve had, and we’ve tried quite a lot. Staff are friendly and food is amazing quality :)

Myself and the lovely Ursula went here for dinner recently and we hadn’t been here for years.
It was just as good as I remember it!
We had the early bird menu which was great. Delicious spicy chicken wings and spring rolls to start with perfect beef in black bean sauce for mains.
Service was excellent, efficient and polite and good value.
Five stars!!!

Had lunch here yesterday with family,we always enjoy it as your going to get good food here.the wings are a lovely starter.the mains are always good with great choice.we never leave here dissapointed,the staff are also lovely.

I find it somewhat insulting that people have nice things to say about this restaurant. I went there this past week as a first time visitor (and needless to say; last) and between the service, the food and even the drink, I have nothing nice to say at all.
The service was unattentive, rude and generally unpleasant to deal with. The food, I don't actually have the vocabulary to describe to readers how bad it was; for this, I am sorry. When it came to the drink, it was clear the pipes hadn't been serviced in some time. My pint of lager was cloudy and tasted like it came from a septic tank.
I shan't go any further. The memory of the experience is making me rather aggravated.

We're regerlur visitor's to the restaurant . The food has always come out in a timely manner for us. The early bird menu is a winner for me. Good variation but would like to see it change up every 3 months or so. The main menu has opinions for all tastes. It was great to see the place get a bit of a facelift as it was needed

Possibly just the difference in Chinese food in Ireland, but I found this place expensive and the food very poor. Possibly the worst Chinese I have tasted anywhere in the world. The only upside is that the staff were friendly. Hate to give really poor reviews but cannot find anything good to say about the food except that there were mountains of it. Sorry.

Have been a few times in the past always found the food to be tasty. It is expensive but it’s a nice treat.I was really dissapointed with the portion sizes , they are not good value for money, I wanted more & usually I would never finish a Chinese meal. Also they don’t give complimentary prawn crackers anymore which was a nice touch..
I went to the toilet and when I returned the bill had been put on the table by a man who never engaged with us other than taking our order. I said excuse me I’m not finished my meal yet as I wanted a coffee & had not been offered desserts either. He said “oh ok” took the bill away. I found that very rude and maybe a hint for us to move on as he wanted the table for more people waiting ??
I had my coffee & went to pay. €58 for 3 mains ,3 soft drinks & a kids ice cream. Food was delicious but restaurant is dirty , carpet had food on it in a lot of areas,staff so unfriendly & the phone is so loud when it rang I almost jumped !
Will get a takeaway next time !

Friendly staff food average not that big of a portion size for the price you pay could do with a facelift inside old fashioned, floor not the cleanest bits of food on the carpet.
