I met with family today at Fanny O Deas and have to say I was super impressed with food, outdoor dining and the staff couldn't be any more accommodating and helpful. It was important we were seated out of any potential drafts or rain etc...especially for one of the people in the group and there was no issue here at all. I have no hesitation in returning again.More

Very disappointed with our visit here. Very understaffed and disorganised in general. Food took 45 minutes to come and we left a lot of it behind. Would not recommend the chowder and the curry did not have much sauce. Their tv?was not working and there...was a soccer game on that we hoped to watch. It was a shame because it was a massive tv! Beer garden however looked lovely if you were just dropping by for a drink only.More

Fab stop-off. Dropped in on way back from Kilkee to Ennis. Hubbie & I both had garlic mushrooms then he had fish & chips and i had fish-cake (which came with chips & salad). I had a couple glasses of delicious Rioja too! The food...was fab but I do feel the whole atmosphere and especially the service staff were what made this visit memorable. Kudos for the personal interaction while behind masks. I cant wait to go back.More

We were staying at Crown near by for four days and visited this pub every day. Twice for a quiet, cosy drink in front of a lovely warm fire and twice for an early evening meal as we were out of season and the kitchen...shuts a little earlier. On every occasion the welcome was warm and friendly and we were served quickly even if the bar was packed with locals as it was on one occasion. The food was excellent and good value! This is a very characterful pub with areas for drinking, relaxing by the fire and a separate large dining area. Fanny O’Dea’s is a must visit pub if you’re in the area, which we will be doing the next time we visit this part of Co Clare.More

Had no idea our unplanned stop at Fanny O'Dea's would be phenomenal. Loved, Loved, Loved our 2 hour visit. The staff was super friendly and the food was exceptional. Now operated by the 9th generation, the history alone is fascinating. We learned it is bad...luck to not stop so we are even more happy we were passing by and hungry. There is a pub side as well as a restaurant side. Each offer terrific service and amazing decor. We didn't try the famous egg-flip but our mushrooms, fish cakes and chicken schnitzel were one of the best meals we had during our 12 days visit to Ireland. We also had the pleasure of signing the guest book which was started in 1928. Fanny O'Dea's is worth the time and drive. It is not far from the Auto Ferry and Ennis. Remember, it is bad luck not to stop in!More
