We recently celebrated my dad’s 80th birthday and I can’t recommend this place highly enough! From start to finish, the experience was wonderful. The food was amazing!! The staff went above and beyond to make the evening special. They were incredibly accommodating. A special thank you for creating a personalized menu with birthday greetings—it was such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration even more memorable. If you’re looking for a place that combines excellent food with great service I highly recommend this restaurant!! Thank you to the entire team for helping us make my dad’s milestone birthday so special!

Good experience overall

Servers were pleasant and efficient. Our server was able to adjust my order based on a food intolerance, and checked with the chef to confirm the ingredients. Food was very tasty. It was busy while we were there, my only downside was that the background music was too loud and I found it difficult to hear conversation at times.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I was very impressed with the quality of the food, service and the price. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was very tasty, fresh and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed.

Got out as quickly as we could

Neither the chefs or much of the waiting staff really seem to care about the place at all. We were only 1 of 2 tables in the place when the chefs put up our burgers under the lights before we had even finished the starter. Sent my food back because there was a half of a chicken breast missing from my burger which had been very clearly sliced in half horizontally, only to be told that it was “butterflied” and it was handed back to me. Mentioned it on the way out again, but the guy on the till wasn’t phased. Eating out has gotten so expensive - I’m just annoyed that we didn’t spend our money somewhere else where we weren’t rushing out the door just so that we could save our evening.

Needs a Bit More To Impress

Stopped in here with friends for dessert after lunch down the road. A nice, light space with plenty of seating. It was very quiet when we were there so we were given our choice of seating and served quite quickly. Not sure why all three (different) desserts each came with a (very) healthy sprinkling of cinnamon and a very ‘herby’ tasting berry coulis made with berries that were kinda over smushed… Those that dined enjoyed…can’t say that there was much atmosphere here to be honest; as first impressions go, this was a bit meh. Hopefully a second visit will change my mind.

Disappointing Overall

Menu was not what we had seen online. Ordered steak for 4 people and was told 15 mins later, they had run out. Asked for water many times. We were not given the specials menu and had to ask for it because we had seen other people eating food that was not on the menu that was given to us. There was only 3 Dessert options and they were not great. Toilet facilities were not clean at all. Had to wait for staff to sort out bill for over 15 minutes. No apologies at all.

Appalling food and service

I have been here twice for breakfast and would never set foot inside the door again. It was terrible on both occasions - food left under heaters in eye view for over 15 mins, no cutlery on table and no staff to ask to fetch some, no milk for tea and coffee and had to go into the cafe next door for some. When the food did arrive it was greasy, curdled from the heaters and of cheap quality. This place takes no pride in the meals the produce and the staff are not interested in being there. In my opinion, the worst sit down restaurant in Ennis.

Faultless cooking and service

This is a really cool restaurant, decor is Steampunk with lots of copper piping and very cool artefacts dotted around the place. Tables are well spaced out so felt very safe. Staff are young and enthusiastic and very welcoming . Jugs of water were brought immediately as were our drinks, a delicious Cosmopolitan, a pint and a Sauvignon Blanc and a juice for my granddaughter. Two people shared the chicken wings which were glossy and succulent. I had the sirloin steak which was cooked to peefection and served with gigantic onion rings and mushrooms and possibly the best mashed potato I have ever tasted. My husband's fish was lightly battered and succulent and my daughter had chicken and rice and my grandaughter had a burger and mash. Our clean plates gave testament to the quality of the cooking. We shared a bottle of Appassimento which was utterly lovely. When our bill came we could not believe how reasonable it was. We will definitely be back! Thank you . .

Fantastic Attention to Detail

Going for a meal with a person that has food intolerances can be a challenge. Waiters / Chefs who are careless or rude becomes the norm. Passing through Ennis this summer, we stopped to grab a decent lunch before heading home, we randomly found ourselves at No Forty One. My wife asked about a particular item on the menu, wondering if it had 'gluten'. Instead of a half-hearted response, the young lady had an intelligent discussion with us, and to be absolutely sure, went to ask the chef. This is what I would expect in a contentious establishment. What I didn't expect was the chef himself to come to our table, and offer to cook ANYTHING on the menu for my wife, without gluten. What a pleasure to be treated with respect and care. Well done PS when it arrived ALL of our meals were beautiful - 3 happy kids, and 2 delighted adults.

Good food but service was a let down

The food, cocktails and decor are great but the service is terrible. The past 3 times I've visited, the staff were unfriendly and didnt seem to care. They don't come around to see if you need anything and we had to ask for our plates to be cleared on two occasions. Really disappointing and lets the place down.

We stopped in on our way home for a bite to eat. Great service, such friendly staff and so nice to my 4 year old son. I had fish and chips, fish was so fresh, hubby had the pulled pork nachos, he said they were delicious and son had the nuggets, proper chicken! Also tables well spaced apart and lots of sanitizer. Lovely food and great service. We will return for sure.

Unforgivable in my eyes.

I called at 4.30pm to order food that I would collect. I was told by a member of staff to call back at 5.00pm as staff were on their breaks. I understood this and I called the restaurant back at 5.30pm. I was then told by a member of staff that they were no longer doing take out today as they were full and extremely busy due to Christmas parties. I happened to have walked into town waiting to order so I decided to walk past the restaurant on my way back home to find 1 table with 2 customers in total and a completely empty restaurant otherwise with approx 6 staff members visible. I happened to enjoy this restaurant and had recommened it to several people, really disappointed with how I was treated here.

Great food and great hospitality. Oana was super pleasant and very helpful with touring advice and made our evening very pleasant. We ordered pasta and the surf and turf, the pasta was beautiful, while the surf and turf was the best meal we’ve had in Ireland so far. Would highly recommend

Can’t say enough about this place. Great food, meat eaters, and vegetarians all very impressed. The serving staff were so friendly and attentive, they really took the time to chat with us. Very impressed when the chef himself came to see how things were. Great atmosphere and style. Definitely recommend!

Ate in bar 41 tonight both myself and husband were so impressed with food and service Wanna was absolutely amazing and could not do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Would recommend this restaurant as a top class event in fine dining in Ennis. Also in Covid regulations social distancing and hygiene was paramount I will definitely be returning ❤
