Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were here with friends staying in Ennis and what a treat it turned out to be. The service was really warm and attentive. Beautiful ambience with the old paintings hung all round. But the best part was the qbsolutely delish food! I ordered the...lamb shank which was amazingly tender. And the fish that my wife ordered had a sauce that was truly out of this world. At this rate, its a matter of time before they get their Michelle plaudits.More

This is perfect for an "Irish vibe" and to enjoy a pint. Service is friendly and the food is fresh. Perfect for meeting friends after a day in the town. A really neat, classy "drinking man's bar"

Not at all what I was expecting when I stepped through the door - if you’re into art and curios, there is so much to look at and take in! This place gives traditional Irish pub vibes; dark, warm and cosy - maybe a little...imposing at first, but you almost feel as if the space wraps itself around you - absolutely perfect for shutting yourself away for a short while. The bar was packed when we arrived, but our party of five only waited around 10 mins at the bar, before being seated. Bar and wait staff are really friendly and accommodating. The lunch menu is unfussy and has enough options to suit most palates and tastes. Food is served quickly - great portions and very tasty! Well worth stopping off for a bite if you’re in Ennis.More

We visited Ennis as part of a group tour and stayed at the Old Ground Hotel. We explored the town and some other pubs, and came back to the hotel one evening to the sound of Irish music. We followed the sound and found ourselves...in Poet’s Corner. There was a group of musicians at a table playing traditional Irish music and the pub was crowded. We found two seats at the bar and ordered a couple pints. We really enjoyed the evening listening to great music and having a Guinness. We were not in Ennis very long, however Poet’s Corner was a great memory of our trip. The pub is cozy and is a great place to relax with a drink and listen to music. If we ever find ourselves back in Ennis, we will definitely return to Poet’s Corner. The staff was friendly and we didn’t have to wait very long for service.More

Amazing atmosphere, very welcoming staff and excellent food. First, My cousin took us here for a chowder and a pint and we had a great experience! The barman was kind and welcoming and got my wife a proper cuppa tea when she decided she didn’t...want a pint. We had a great lunch and went about our day. My cousins wife later took us here for dinner where I had the fish and chips, also fantastic! Honestly the atmosphere and the vibe of the pub were lovely and it didn’t have that fake feel of most hotel based establishments. It still felt like a wonderful authentic pub experience! Well done to all, we will be back (although it’s a hell of a commute from Canada!)More

Cozy pub with a lovely atmosphere. Delicious meals and helpful waitstaff. Recommend going. Walk ins only, it gets busy so you can sit in the lobby of the hotel while you wait so a pleasant waiting experience. Turn around is quick so you won’t have...to wait long.More

Went here for dinner. It was just outstanding. They have 2 higher end restaurants in this hotel, can't imagine how good they must be since the pub food was one the best I had in Ireland. Service was great as well. Well worth going!

Great local food for short notice. Started with the Seafood Chowder and it was very hearty and flavorful. Main was the lamb shank and it was very tender and lots of flavor. Ambiance is great. Not too loud and the servers and manager were fantastic....Highly recommend going if you're stopping over!More

No it may be called poets corner but they don't do poetry readings there, somewhere like Galway/ennistymon/doolin would probably offer this but you would need to check in advance to save you a trip
