Good food, friendly service. We stayed in a B&B nearby and went here for Dinner. Booking a table seems to be advisable.

The restaurant area is not vast so we were delighted to be able to book a table on a busy Sunday evening. Our table was waiting for us and we were served swiftly by the friendly waiting staff. From the various accents the restaurant is...More

WOW!!! Friendly service, varied menu, reasonable prices, real ale......... and FANTASTIC FOOD! I had a warm & fresh scotch egg for starters that was superb and my main (10oz steak) was the best I have ever tasted. Will certainly be going back - strongly recommend.
We enjoyed our meal here - the mussels and steak are really good. They've got a good selection of vegetarian food too. Service was good and the place itself is welcoming and warm on a cold rainy evening! Worth a try.

Staff at Smiddy are friendly and welcoming. The menu is sensibly brief with specials each day. The steak and ale pie was excellent, salads good and desserts substantial.
