When’s here with my mother, she had the steak and ale pie, I the steak, the peppered sauce was lovely and the steak cooked perfectly, my mother said her food was excellent too. Would highly recommend.

Throughly enjoyed our lunch today with an Itison Voucher,We had Tomato and Pepper soup and Wild Garlic risottto ,followed by a superb Sea Trout and a Haddock and chips . Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was easy to get to with plenty...of parking . I would certainly consider staying overnight next time I am in Perth as it is not far from the town centre.More
Came here as a Mother’s Day treat from my son, he is only 13 and paid for it all what a true gent he shall be. Had a fantastic meal and so did my son with the exception of the brownie (isn’t a fan of...chocolate) but was easily swapped for some ice cream. Will definitely be back as it's my birthday soon too already looking forward to my meal and we haven't even booked yet.More
Part of Parklands hotel, food and service great. Enjoyed a few meals here and always eat at least once when in Perth.
Had a lovely lunch here today for 2 of us. Started with a very tasty soup and excellent smoked haddock risotto. I followed this up with a Ribeye steak, cooked correctly with lovely hand made chips, mushroom and tomato garnish. My partner had Ossian beer...battered fish and chips which was also excellent very fresh with a vibrant pea puree and homemade tartar sauce and again those chips. For dessert we has a Sticky Toffee Pudding and a selection of cheeses, both very good. Good selection of wines and beer. We have enjoyed this place for lunch and dinner. Sunday lunch is particularly good value.More
The food was very mediocre in my honest opinion. I had soup to start which was very nice. My main was beer battered haddock & chips with pea puree. The fish wasn't fresh and had never seen beer in its batter. The batter was soft...and doughy not crispy at all. The chips were frozen and they served the chip scraps which made them appear desperate. Pea puree didn't serve any purpose at all. Probably made with frozen peas, no taste. This place may have won awards for their food but I think it maybe some years ago and dont think they have a cat in hell's chance of winning any award now, unless it is for disgusting food. The Lithuanian waitress was an absolute delight and brightened up a very dreary place. I would AVOID at all costs.More
I may have entered this review under No68 at Parklands - same hotel just a different area for eating. Enjoyed lunch here, food was very good and service excellent. We had an Itison Voucher so value was excellent and included 2 courses and a glass...of fizz. We ordered a bottle of water and 2 desserts as extras. A service charge of £4.20 was added to the bill. Now - we are not in America and this is my pet hate. If I wish to give a tip I will happily give an amount of my choice. Given we had a voucher we paid the service charge. However, I would like to know what I would have been charged if we did not have any extras i.e. how could they charge for a pre paid voucher. This has put me off returning even thought the food and service was good.More
decided to try this place, as I have driven past many times but not been in, mainly because I live in Perth and we are spoiled by having nearly as many restaurants as lamp posts..... The setting and view in the conservatory is pleasant, the...decoration is good, and the staff attentive. we had the terrine starters and chicken/belly pork. the food was hot, well presented and well timed. all was going well until presented with the bill. I have been to New York where the bar tender/waitress/bell hop will chase you down the street for not leaving a tip..... I can give the management a tip: in this day and age it is NOT really acceptable to charge a discretionary tip of 10% to a bill-it removes me from the decision process-did I consider the meal and the service good enough for a tip?More
Very pleasant staff but lunch for all three of us was poor. How can you make a mistake with Ceasar Salad, commis chef thought it correct to use tired outside leaves and threw out the heart! Venison liver with corn cob and popcorn was the smallest and...worst presentation I have seen. My cousins fish dish of plaice was small, served in two little bits, although not looking appetising my cousin remarked it was quite tasty.More
We visited here on our way home using an ITISON Voucher. On arriving we gave the man behind reception the voucher. Very muted response (no warm welcome). We went on to enjoy a tremendous meal served by a very friendly and efficient waitress. As we...were leaving we thanked the man behind reception and mentioned how good the meal was. His response was to grunt as we left and ignore us (could this have been because my husband was wearing shorts having just arrived back from abroad). Or it may have been because we used an ITISON voucher and spent no extra money. A disappointing end to an otherwise very pleasant dining experience. (18/9/2018)More
