When one plans to go to a Michelin starred restaurant, one expects a well-hosted, leisurely dining experience with fine food. My wife and I reserved for dinner at the Boath House well ahead of time. First difficulty was finding the place, which is located in...More

Although the setting was so beautiful and the food interesting- molecular gastronomy trappings, we were disappointed that none of the courses were outstanding. Every course was just good and not memorable although the plates were wonderfully presented. Even though the wait staff were friendly they...More

This absolutely beautiful hotel is a converted and renovated Georgian house on the outskirts of Nairn. The grounds are gorgeous, with flowers everywhere, huge trees (including copper beeches), a small lake encircled by rushes and weeping willows, and a very large walled garden. Our room...More

Maybe we lucked out on the mid-July weather, but there are few places as comfortable to dine (and stay) as the Boath House. It's a beautiful stone house, very comfortably renovated, with less than a dozen tables for dinner. There's a single setting each evening,...More

I went here for an afternoon tea with my wife, whilst it is set in lovely grounds and the house is period I felt that the £22.50 each was extremely expensive the cakes were nothing to write home about and the sandwiches were no better

Fantastic food cooked by Charlie. A lot is sourced locally. Rooms are great too as got married there in 2011 had a wonderful day.

I have never written about bad experiences at restaurants but having just read the recent one about the manager at The Boath House, I agree and must write to warn other Trip Advisor followers. However, I feel he should not only seek help for anger...More

Please read the response to your associate in the previous review. Age and money do not allow inappropriate behaviour - all our staff are trained to respect other cultures and being an international establishment they meet people from all over the world. They are NOT...More

The food, particularly the roe deer, ambiance and settings are truly amazing. Even my private chat with the Chef was memorable. However, the the disgusting and humiliating treatment we received from Mr. Sam [-], who purports to be the Manager, was alarming!! He argued with...More

Lude remarks to junior female members of staff and inappropriate behaviour in a family run restaurant or any establishment is not acceptable at any age and throwing a card machine into the road and causing criminal damage is totally unacceptable - i noticed your associate...More

What a fabulous setting and a fantastic atmosphere. Lovely staff and the food was absolutely divine. A lovely light Butternut Squash Soup to start, followed by decadent Foie Gras. Now the cured Monkfish wasn't to everyone's taste around our table; however, I thought it was...More

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves after hearing wonderful things about the food at Boath House. We were initially booked into Room 8 which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. It is under the hotel and on entering it smelled damp and musty. They...More

Using quality locally sourced ingredients, some of which are grown in our own gardens, we provide a three or six course set menu. Michelin Star and 4 AA Rosettes. Dress code is casual smart and often ties are worn by staff only.
