Good food, friendly staff and a nice place to visit. The village of Cawdor is lovely to visit too. It might be best to book especially on a sunday

Scotland has some very dismal pubs but this is not one. It is very traditional with plenty of character and has a warm feeling on arrival. A great range of real ales on offer. It was busy but the pub was on the cold side for a Sunday lunch. There was a real fire burning but perhaps it could have... More

Nice little place. Very rustic but great food and lovely staff. Had a room to ourselves as there was a lot of us. Food was great and the price was really good. Nice for lunch, dinner or just a drink as there is a small bar and a pool table as well. Definitly recommend.

Nice cosy pub and restaurant. Lovely location and welcome. Menu has lots to offer at a reasonable price. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

We stayed in nearby croy for a week and are here 5 nights out of the 7 we stayed and had a fantastic meal every time. The staff were really welcoming and helpful, with lots of advice for places to visit around the area. Would definitely recommend a visit here, I'm sure you won't leave disappointed

We visited the Cawdor Tavern tonight for a high tea which offered terrific value-£12.99 for a delicious main meal, selection of cakes and tea/coffee. The selection of main meals on the high tea menu (scampi, chicken with haggis, ham salad, fish pie, veggie casserole, beef casserole I think) was fairly small but catered for all tastes. The following cake selection... More

As we entered the restaurant we noticed how cold it was inside. We have been there before and on our previous visits noted the welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately we did not experience that today. It was that cold my wedge potatoes were Lukes warm on arrival. We will return just not until it's warmer. My offer of a pound for the... More

Lovely setting to catch up with friends. The staff very friendly and helpful. Giod size portions of delicious food, I had fish and chips followed by warm chocolate brownie. Only complaint would be that the room was very very cold even though radiators and fire were on.

Recently visited and enjoyed highland venison haunch with a Stornoway black pudding Dauphinoise potato and heather honey roasted root vegetables. My wife had the poached lemon sole wrapped in Parma ham filled with shellfish risoto which was in her words "amazing" The haunch I had was braised in red wine and Juniper, and was the tenderest piece of venison ive... Hands down the best meal I have had in a long time and the service was impeccable. Will definitely go back next time I am in town.
