Good honest food, nice steak and flexible staff. We have a special diet and they were flexible enough to cater for us

Before getting the train I wanted to eat something and went for Hector's Bothy as a quarter before 4 is a bit to early for ChineseTakeAway. Probably I should have waited another 15min for the SteakMenu served between 4pm and 8pm, instead I went for Soup of the Day, which was advertised as Chicken&Rice and a large bowl of Chips.... More

This used to be a chip shop several years ago with a cafe on the side. The menu has changed to be more extensive and the chip shop has moved over the road. The fish and chips are still good though.

I enjoyed a posh version of the Scottish staple of fish and chips. The batter was crisp and the chips were just how they should be, piping hot and tasty. The dish was served with a tasty salad which put it above the normal chippy fayre.

I was in Kyle waiting for the next train to Inverness, needed a coffee and a bacon roll. Hectors fitted the bill perfectly, excellent table service, the place was very busy but was served promptly, the food came quickly and the staff were very friendly.

While staying at a local hotel, with not the greatest food, found this place via Google. Seasonal venue with evening opening starting late March (30th this time). Menu was small, but varied and there were local ales available. I tried the steak and chips with side salad - delicious and correctly cooked to order. Early bird deal (before 7pm) with... More
