While walking along High St we took the opportunity to have a few drinks at The Grog & Gruel. It’s a quaint little pub with a friendly atmosphere and cold beer.

First time in Fort William and this restaurant was one recommended by our hotel. While the food was okay, at best. Nachos were ordered with no jalepenos yet came loaded with them. No server ever returned to our table to ask how our meal was...More

So, my wife and I arrived in Fort William after a day of driving. We were ready to eat our faces off. After a quick stroll up and down the street, The Grog & Gruel's menu won us over. And the food didn't disappoint! I...More

Nice warm fireplace greeted us on a very cold day! We decided to have dinner, the chicken burrito is not what you think of as a burrito it is more like a baked chicken dish with a tomato sauce, the burgers are good , but...More

We booked a meal in the upstairs restaurant, asked for no sauces or dressings on 2 out of the 3 meals, both came with them on, otherwise food was ok.

I don’t think it’s fair to damn a whole place on the merits of a single solitary burger! That said, 4 Adults enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks over the course of a few hours yesterday. The stag and ale pie was delicious and if...More

The Grog and Gruel is horrendous. Do NOT go. The burger made my husband feel nauseous. The nachos are decent though. The children’s meals are ok but could DEFINITELY be better. Over all it’s horrid and for £13 for a dry awful burger it’s like...More

We were on a tour and only had a small window but the Grog and Guel had a high recommendation. We made our way to it and the food was good. My wife had a hearty, feel good stew type of thing. Our only complaint...More

The service was great but the food wasn’t. My husband had the blandest pizza he’s ever had - he had to keep putting salt on it to get some flavour. I thought it was a little over priced for very average food. We won’t be...More

Great pub grub, friendly service and well priced, and allowed dogs in which was extremely helpful for us! They even threw in a side of curly fries for free with our meal which obviously went down a treat. Would highly recommend.

Dogs are allowed in the pub downstairs. There's a restaurant upstairs too but no dogs permitted up there :)

Great food, good beer and a relaxed atmosphere in our Traditional Alehouse & Restaurant located on Fort William's pedestrianised High Street.
