Went with a friend couple of weeks ago - she'd been given a voucher as part of Christmas - and can only say it was one of my worst 'better quality dining' experiences, and I eat out a lot ....French Onion soup was substantial (good) but basic stock totally overpowering .... also see previous comment on Chorizo sauce accurate (not... Went here on Sunday with my wife and was not disappointed with the experience, We had dined here before and if anything the food and the service just seem to get better and better. On this occasion we dined on a voucher and were very pleasantly surprised and delighted with the choices available to us, a minimum of at least... More

I love this restaurant the food is always fantastic and as much as I'd like to try another starter the Bang Bang Chicken is so amazing I can't .....maybe one day! This time we both opted for a delicious Spanish pork loin, chorizo and patatas bravas main. Can't wait for the next visit.

Our second visit to Red Onion with our friends. A fantastic choice of gluten free food for one of our party. Great to see the owner and chef John Quigley at front of house talking to the diners. Very relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff and first class service. Looking forward to my third visit in March.

A group of 6 of us were staying at the nearby blythswood hotel and had a reservation at 8pm on a Saturday night. On calling to say we were running 10 mins late we were told we had no booking! Despite having a confirmation email (issue appeared to be with the 5pm.com system). Offered a table at 9.30pm which wasn't... More

Attended the restaurant on a Saturday evening as a group of four with a pre booking made. Nice environment and varied menu with the quality of food being reasonable. First indication of anything untoward was the appearance of 3 different staff members within 5 minutes each seeking our drinks orders (when we had given our order on the first time... More

Scenery is delightful. Quite quiet on the night. Contemporary yet beautiful. I had the steak (rare) he had the braised beef. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and a juicy cut. The beef was delightful and melted in the mouth. The peppercorn sauce was by far the best I've ever had and his potatoes were to die for. The... More
