Before I go on about how great the food and service were, I have to say that the only negative aspect of our Malmaison experience was the surly, unkempt bartender who had four guests to serve and could not multi-task. One client asked for his pre-dinner drinks to be added to his restaurant tab and he was told "I am... More

OK, it was a Monday night in January and the place was nearly empty but we felt a distinct lack of ambience. Food good, service attentive but...

Despite having very elegant look this restaurantbar lacks a bit of character. Yes it is underground but doesn't compete with so many wonderful places like this in Glasgow. Decent choice for breakfast however we love to get more fresh fruits range and cooked porridge.

My wife and I booked this on an Itison deal, offering the chateaubriand with trimmings and a bottle of wine for half the normal price. We enjoyed the food so much, we both agree that we will return and happily pay full price to have the same again. Service was friendly and efficient, without being over-attentive or intrusive. The wine... More

Yeh so it was awful. I didn't get a starter despite being starving in hopes to save my macros for what was promised to be a delightful main. I got the halibut which was £18 and I swear on my life...there was approx 7.5g of halibut on my plate. It was COVERED in what looked like spiralized white cabbage...so I... More

Started with a pre dinner drink in the busy buzzy bar then through to the very elegant dining room for some grub! Very tasty scallop starter, good job it tasted good as £10.50 for 1 big scallop is pretty pricey! Delicious ribs with parsnips! Fries were fab too! Great service, even in December!

On a Monday night we expect a restaurant to be relatively quiet and the benefit would be fast and attentive service. Unfortunately, despite the restaurant being quiet, we did not experience that level of service from this upmarket brasserie. On several occasions I needed to prompt the waiting staff to get us drinks. No doubt we will go again for... More

A welcomed change to your typical bar and grill venue in Glasgow. This was my second visit in the last 2 months and both times I have been treated to great food, impeccable service and left having thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I appreciate you cannot please everybody but I'll defiantly be back again.

Description
"In the lively, bohemian Port of Leith, Malmaison Brasserie reigns supreme as a superlative place to meet and eat. The highly chic Art Nouveau French brasserie has sleek, stylish decor and actual port views. The staff are passionate about food, wine and service, and the dining room is lit with that brasserie buzz. Malmaison Executive Chef, Roy Brett has overall direction.

What's cooking? Inspiration is taken from great 'French brasserie-style dishes' and further enhanced with a unique contemporary twist. Dishes include char-grilled ribeye with cafe de paris butter and fine beans and salmon fishcake with parsley sauce and buttered spinach. For those of you with a sweet tooth, be sure to try the tarte tartin with creme chantilly.
