I’ve given this restaurant 1 star as the Sunday lunch was awful, but it might not be an accurate reflection of the regular menu. It begins with a buffet of starters, which could work; except they included the likes of ‘chow mien’, ‘watermelon and feta...More

Booked here when visiting Glasgow as had visited the brasserie a few years ago. We arrived early 7.15pm, but as the restaurant had very few other guests, we were shown to a table. Although it was empty, we waited 30 mins before we got a...More

Visited Malmaison Brasserie with a friend and really enjoyed a delicious meal which was beautifully presented and chosen from a menu with plenty of variable choices. The staff were extremely attentive, polite and helpful. The restaurant itself was really lovely with very comfortable seating. This...More

Staff were lovely despite the restaurant being full. Our food was very disappointing. My husband's mixed grill had a very tough pork chop and the black pudding still had it's skin on, my chowder had an unpleasant tasting sauce. My apple crumble was inedible as...More

A little bit of a "dungeon look" compared to other Malmaison restaurants I have been to. But the breakfast we had there was good and fresh. Cannot comment on dinner. I would say the decor and look is OK but might benefit from a refresh/refurb

Ambience, quality service and non too rushed. Food cooked very well indeed. Cold starters did not disappoint. I was very impressed. My fillet steak was possibly a bit rarer than medium rare but the quality of the meat meant it was fine. 10/10.

Description
"In the lively, bohemian Port of Leith, Malmaison Brasserie reigns supreme as a superlative place to meet and eat. The highly chic Art Nouveau French brasserie has sleek, stylish decor and actual port views. The staff are passionate about food, wine and service, and the dining room is lit with that brasserie buzz. Malmaison Executive Chef, Roy Brett has overall direction. What's cooking? Inspiration is taken from great 'French brasserie-style dishes' and further enhanced with a unique contemporary twist. Dishes include char-grilled ribeye with cafe de paris butter and fine beans and salmon fishcake with parsley sauce and buttered spinach. For those of you with a sweet tooth, be sure to try the tarte tartin with creme chantilly. "
