This is a great place to eat, lovely hand made wooden furniture and handy location in the heart of Glasgow’s lively Merchant City quarter. We enjoyed starters of Cullen Skink or smoked salmon, both good followed by haggis, neeps and tarries or smoked haddock. The...More

We came here on a recommendation from the hotel. Without a reservation they were happy to accommodate us. I had a traditional Scottish smoked haddock meal which was very good. My spouse had a very nice salmon meal and she was quite pleased. Prices were...More

Had a wonderful breakfast here today. Coffee was smooth, service was excellent, and surroundings were very warm and inviting. Had Eggs Hebridean - eggs were done to perfection. My son had the full Scottish breakfast and raved about it. Will certainly go there again.

I used to live in Glasgow nearly two decades ago and Cafe Gandolfi was one of my favourite haunts. I was delighted to see that it hadn't changed in terms of layout and decor - a combination of art deco and rustic. I was delighted...More

Came here with my aunties, mum, and grandma for a Friday lunch - the decor is lovely and the place clean. Our waiter was great, even going the extra mile standing on a chair to get a good group photo! My fish was lovely and...More

Make sure you don't confuse this restaurant with Gandolfi Fish, which is two doors down; part of the same business but not as friendly! Excellent atmosphere inside and really bustling on a Wednesday lunchtime - make sure you book in advance. Food was very good...More

Description
"Deagh bhiadh, deagh bheannachd" Well fed, well blessed. It's this sense of Hebridean hospitality that makes Café Gandolfi such an incredible long standing institution in the Glasgow scene. Opened in 1979, and pioneering the Merchant City into becoming the hub of bars and restaurants that it is today, Gandolfi is a truly well loved and frequented corner of Glasgow. From the main café with its iconic Tim Stead furniture downstairs, the hidden treasure bar up in the attic boasting gorgeous cocktails and atmosphere, to the glamorously sleek Gandolfi Fish two doors up with its adjoining little sibling Fish To Go, this little section of the Merchant City looks set to continue keeping the bar toweringly high when it comes to all things good food, good wine and great hospitality.
