I was recommended this place as one of the best in Glasgow. Sorry it couldn't be further from the truth. Whilst the staff are great and very friendly the food was very disappointing. Chips looked as if they had been residing for a while and...More

Dear Customers, if you are reading this "terrible" review, please rest assured that we take great pride in what we do. We only fry our fresh fish to order which is well far from "manufactured". As Tripadvisor users ourselves, we also think that if you...More

Every other comment written here is correct :-) Delicious crispy & fresh fish&chips, the classic Haddock in Batter with chips (Supper version they name it) is a good choice for 4.90£ as a quick and tasty local lunch. Fast on-the-spot service. Too bad though you...More

On advice of nice locals, we went to Merchant Chippie. We experienced the best fish & chips we ever had, everything is fresh, coming daily from the market, fresh potatoes for the fries, lot of variety of fish to choose from.

A busy little Chippie which is an obvious indication of its popularity. We arrived placed an order, and waited just over 10 minutes for it to be ready. They were busy serving earlier customers and those arriving to pick up telephone orders. The fish and...More

Fish, chips and mushy peas all excellent. I had a lovely fresh piece of haddock fried in excellent batter. I sat in to eat - decor as you'd expect in a predominantly takeaway joint and not licenced, but definitely worth trying their fare - far...More

Just sampled my first fritters from here. Off the scale good. Can't wait for an excuse to tuck into the fish. Spotlessly clean, quiet place to eat and convenient place to pop into.

Been going here for years off & on & it's still the best in Glasgow. OK - Glasgow chippies are generally bog standard at best but here you get freshly cooked to order fish & chips - the only way in my opinion - stockpiling...More

This is a cute looking little place that is immaculately clean. The haddock is a thing of beauty, so fresh looking, but it is served in an average, if non greasy, batter with average chips and no extras (lemon, tarter sauce) save malt vinegar. Do...More

As good as it gets for fish & chips and that's really saying something given how fussy I am about chippies. Located just east of Glasgow city centre on the edge of the merchant city at junction of Ingram and High Streets. Basically a take...More
