First time at this restaurant. Staff were nice but could have explained that the portions were small and should have advised us that. Naan bread was perfect My wife’s chicken curry was very bland and had a squashed large black Cardamon pod in the dish...that like a squashed bug . So that was the end of that meal I asked for my Lamb Dish to be spicy, but I think that feel on deaf ears . I had to order Veg pakora to go as I was still hungry. Not a very good dinning experience, Don’t think I would be back there any time soonMore

Live in west london which is abundant with great indian restaurants. This place is different. Food is perfectly spiced, presentation is outstanding and customer service is excellent. Costs a bit more than other dine ins, but is well worth it.

We ate starter and mains at Mother India and on the whole we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The wine selection was good and decent draft beer. Lovely candle lit tables really set the mood. The staff were extremely friendly and tentative! The crab...and prawn roti starter was mega tasty along with the spinach paneer and fresh Paratha. Delicious! The only really disappointing thing about the meal; I ordered the slow cooked chicken curry, however chicken was rather tough and definitely not slow cooked! Shame!More

I've been a huge fan of mother india restaurants for years but sorry to say this is the 3rd poor take away. And it's really bad. Particularly the main courses. The chicken bhoona is tasteless and watery. It's so bad. The lamb Karachi is a...little better but that's not saying much. The the aloo gobi is ... ok. The mother india cook book is excellent but the Dining in meal for two is embarrassing.More

Where do I start? First of all I wanted to order food from the Mother India at Lansdowne Crescent - as their food is usually very good. I phoned the number on the Lansdowne website to check they were open for take away. They said...yes. We then worked out what the four of us wanted - which took some time with the tapas like menu - and phoned to order. I was then informed that this wasn't actually the Lansdowne but a different restaurant! (WHY have the phone number on the page of a different restaurant?!) Picked food AGAIN from the menu at Dining In Mother India (far less choice - no fish for example) and awaited its arrival. First thing we noticed when we opened all the containers was that everything was the same colour - orange! The fish pakora and the dosa were okay - although the spinach came from a tin as it had a briny taste. The mains were terrible. Chilli Garlic Chicken was absolutely swimming in grease, the chicken dhansak was tasteless - a few bits of chicken (obviously cooked separately chucked into a flavourless dahl (the same dahl which came with the dosa). The Veggie dish was appalling. Potato and aubergine - no sign of any aubergine and the potato was actually very large chucks of under cooked sweet potato. Nan was fine, rice was fine but overall really disappointing. Not a patch on a home made curry! The Mother India restaurants used to serve superior Indian cuisine than the standard curry house in Glasgow. Not any more unfortunately. Never again.More

Picked up my dine in box on Saturday and was delighted with initial packaging and instruction on how to reheat my meal. Starters of spiced haddock with fennel and cumin topped with roasted tomatoes and green herb pakora. Mains of chicken breast with spinach leaf...plus sweet potato, smoke aubergine and green beans. Sides of chickpeas with mushrooms, vegetable pilau and bread plus gulb jamun to finish. Absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend!More

My partner had a crab pancake and I had vegetable pakora! Nothing extraordinary! Our main was burnt, a chicken curry and a chicken curry arrived in a metal oven dish ! We could smell the burned sauce and chicken ! Since I was in a...very nice company, I didn’t want to make a fuss! We barely ate anything because it was burnt! A shame, we had great expectations about the place. You should learn from mother India café, food wise and service wise!More
