Friday night in the ''Chip'' and it is heaving, only booked the night before but they squeezed us in at 8:45pm. It was really busy but the service was good considering. We had brought our drinks in from the bar, as we waited there until...More

I love the upstairs because no matter the weather it's a magical place to be. We had a short window to grab a bite to eat and thankfully we were served within this window in a very relaxed way but also meant there was no...More

I hadnt been here for over twenty years so arrived with a visiting friend from London. nice service , attentive, pleasant. However the crunch is the food. The menu was rather limited. Three choices on each course - though this was the pre theatre menu....More

Lovely atmosphere if you can get a table in mezzanine level amongst the plants but book early. Food is good and service too even during busy graduation schedule. Lots of places nearby for aperitifs and walk in nearby botanical gardens afterwards maybe - it's light...More

I tried their Haggis Neeps and Tatties with the whisky sauce and it was excellent. The portion was too big for me, so, unfortunately, I didn't taste one of the desserts. I think it is a really nice restaurant in what it seems like an...More

Visited for the first time for a pre concert meal. Meal was nice - the starters (lamb and cannelloni) probably better than the venison and sea bass mains. The veg side of broccoli and cauliflower was very dry though the chips were great. The waiting...More

Restaurant was recommended to us before we set off for a holiday in Glasgow but we decided to go to the brasserie upstairs instead. The ambience was lively and the food was excellent, Scottish flavours beautifully presented and plenty of it, the wee portion of...More

We were celebrating my husband's birthday so wanted something a little different and certainly got it. The Brasserie and restaurant have a wonderful ambiance, with a glass framed roof. The waitress could not do enough for us throughout the meal being very attentive and informative...More

I love the Ubiquitous Chip, it's just one of those places that consistently keeps delivering exceptional food. Every dish is beatifully thought and presented, often with a quirky twist; the spicing on their haggis is the best I've tried; the decor is stylish and unpretentious;...More

Compared to the restaurant (which is slightely more expensive) is absolutely not worth the money. Bad service and small portions. Drinks and cocktails are good, tho. On the other hand, the restaurant remains one of my favourite spots in Glasgow.

Floating on the mezzanine overlooking the main restaurant at The Ubiquitous Chip, The Brasserie offers inventive and wholesome bistro-style dining with the same integrity and commitment to good quality food as the main dining area. Set over the top level of The Chip and offering everything from all day brunch at the weekend, quick midweek lunches and leisurely evening dinners, The Brasserie menu is as diverse as it's surroundings. Like the original restaurant opened back in the 1970s, The Brasserie at the Ubiquitous Chip is on a mission to keep Scottish food and Scottish producers firmly on the culinary map. Using nasturtiums and tomatoes grown on our own mezzanine, Inverurie beef, Seil Island crab, Loch Melfort mussels and Ramsay's of Carluke's pork belly - we offer you the best of what Scotland has to offer in a magical space.
