I was led here Saturday lunch time by the great reviews and the fact it’s multi award winning. I wasn’t disappointed, as my chicken biryani was very tasty. The menu is very varied, so there’s a lot to choose from.
Charcoals is a lovely restaurant just a short walk from Glasgow Central Station. Whether you are after an executive lunch, pre theatre or an a la carte meal, they will cater for all. The staff are very welcoming and professional. They do a great job....The food is beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.More
Birthday supper lived up to expectations at this small but busy restaurant.
The service was friendly & efficient. The food was excellent as usual.
The impromptu birthday cake was a lovely touch with the customers in fine voice as well
I would call my self a coniseur of Indian food but I have had my fair share and this was up there with the best. My wife and myself had an incredible meal, with amazing hospitality and service. Highly recommended.
Was in tonight with my Girlfriend and can honestly say one of the most satisfying dinner experiences either of us have ever had. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, helpful with regards to questions around dishes and continuously ensuring that our night was...good. The food was outstanding, a true freshly cooked authentic Indian menu, we were asked about any preferences with relation to spice and accommodated for. Coupled with the wonderful charity work that they do, Charcoals is in itself a simply beautiful experience and a must visit for anyone that likes Indian food.
Thank you very much for a wonderful evening, look forward to visiting with the rest of my family in the very near future.More
This restaurant will always be our favourite Indian restaurant. Selection is good and food is served in copper pots. Absolutely love the lamb dishes and my vegetarian daughter has so many excellent choices. We visit every birthday and are never disappointed. Would also recommend the...paneer dishes. Service is fab tooMore
My wife and i found to our delight that we were able to book a table on a busy friday night!

On a day trip to Glasgow with my wife and another couple, who had recommended Charcoals, we booked for 4.30pm Thursday 26th Aug.
We were not disappointed as the food and service was excellent, we also received a free starter. The only downside was after...paying the bill and leaving a tip I noticed that a 10% service charge had already been added to our bill, to say this is a cheek and a bit of a liberty is an understatement and really annoys me as tipping is NOT mandatory, to not even inform the customer is underhand .
It is the customers prerogative whether to leave a tip or not, please remove this unnecessary nonsense from your billing, as it tarnishes your good reputation and integrity, or was the "free" starter not free after all, but a sweetener to the surcharge applied ?More
