Absolutely horrible. Went with my friends for a pint and was hoping to have a good time, when from nothing a blonde security guy started to fight with a customer and a woman went to separate them and the security guy just hit the woman...right in front of everyone, I still can’t believe that this happened and honestly, what a horrible experience. Made me so anxious and insecure in that place. We ordered a burger and the order never came because the kitchen was already closed, but no one told us that (even though we paid for the burger), after a long time, we asked a waitress and she said that they cancelled our order and just then, a woman came with the card machine to give us our refund. The security guys were basically throwing us away in a very rude manner after 10pm, we had to literally chug our beer. It would be smart to go into people’s tables 30 min BEFORE closing and advise people to finish their orders, instead of accepting new ones and forcing people to leave their drinks there, or drink in such a hurry. Sad, sad night. Would not recommend and I’m never coming back.More

Reserved a table for 9:30pm. Turned up slightly earlier to find the menu and payment is online. Alas, my phone was juices out from being out all day. When I approached the bar staff to order I was told the kitchen was already closed, despite...it being 8 minutes before the 9:45pm deadline. I politely explained this, but was handled with a surly barman who obviously didn't like the fact a customer is right. The same barman came to our table and served our drunks like we were really not welcome, turned away and stomped off without any basic polite, thanks. You can get away with this poor service and pull a strop. You may tell the chef to do something to the food to a customer you dislike. But, you won't get customers to return again. Reviews like this, will point this out to other customers. Remember, Bad reviews kill business. Any customer is a valued customer from first to last, even if they arrive 8 minutes before the kitchen closes. The other staff were polite and friendly.More

We saw the England-Germany Euros game here- and as I'm an England supporter and it was my birthday, it was a magical experience! I'm a big fan of German-style beers and have lived in Germany and I thought every one that I tried here was...top-notch. The building was amazing too and the park next to it is enormous. There were some less good aspects which is why I've taken a star off. My wife's food and drink took ages to come; while one member of staff was brilliant some didn't seem to be doing much at all- but I'm sure there are extra difficulties due to Covid and it didn't detract from a wonderful birthday visit.More

The service was wonderful especially since none of my group had used their online ordering app before. Beer was just as remembered and the curried chips were divine. Wish we had ordered a box each instead of sharing

Stopped at West to pick up a keg my partner had ordered. As it was a beautiful day we took advantage of the situation and ordered some pizzas from the pizza truck. Friendly service and good food. Well done West, even in weird times.

I dislike leaving bad reviews and I always attempt to portray the positive aspects of a restaurant. Let's be honest: people are more inclined to leave a review when they have a negative experience than a positive one - psychologists refer to this as negative...bias. That being said, from my experience at this establishment, the only positive experience was leaving through the door at the end. We had went for a quick business lunch, it was anything but quick as it took approximately 40 minutes for us to be served our food. There is no service: literally. Our only interaction with any staff members was one man who showed us to a table and then one woman who brought our food to us. I appreciate that it was a sign of the times: from articles in the local press it appears that they have made a lot of their staff unemployed for looking too sullen or walking surly, redundant, furloughed, etc and it showed. There is generally nobody on the restaurant floor for the majority of the time in case you required any assistance. The burgers we got were mediocre at best: unremarkable in taste and not lacking in price point. On a quality scale they rate above McDonalds but below Wetherspoon's. Suffice to say, I shall not be returning nor can I give them a positive recommendation. However, I wish them well in their endeavours going forward as I believe much of these issues stems from their reaction(s) to the current SARS-CoV-2 outbreak.More

Great service from Davie and Gillian and the WEST Team for my mum's funeral reception. It was a tricky time with new and changing lockdown restrictions but they pulled out all the stops to make sure we had a lovely lunch. Home made sausage rolls...went down very well by everyone! And the vegan/veggie selection hit just the spot. All in all, tricky times which they handled very well.More

We took a walk from the city centre through Glasgow Green and stopped here for hot drinks. It is a quick and intersesting walk with the murals at the Clutha Bar, the Peoples Palace and the highly decorative French Renaissance style fountain along the way....The restaraunt itself is situated inside the sumptious old Templeton Carpet Factory Building. Before entering it was evident that this venue has an extensive outdoor area which allows for safe drinking and dining. Inside the restaurant was spacious and by current (Covid) standards reasonably busy with a good atmosphere. As our visit today was no more than a pitstop we just had a coffee and a cup of tea. I have been here before and I can vouch for their food having had both the sausages and the schnitzel on separate occasions. However today it was just drinks, but this did not stop me from being very impressed by the service and all the very sensible safety precautions in place. I am already a fan but today was my first visit since we have all been living with restrictions due to Covid-19. In summary, West on the Green is still as good as ever with the added bonus of expertly dealing with all the necessary safety procedures.More

Average food and beer. They sadly treat staff very badly, any google search will confirm how badly they treat their people.

They asked us to gel hands, wear masks when standing, make orders on phone and the seats are well spaced enough to make you feel comfortable. I would say they lay out of their online ordering system could be simplified, but they are doing a...great job.More
