The ticket seller for the Hop on Hop off buses sent us here. Because of construction, we had to go around the block to get to it and there were few people there for lunch. It's a preserved Victorian pub, with wonderful decor and excellent...More

This is a great pub and the food was gorgeous. The staff are attentive and extremely accommodating, especially with the picky eaters in our party. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would love to go again.

We dined in the Oyster Bar. (Used in Chariots of Fire) The menu was good and the food was very good. The decor is iconic and is worth going for alone.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and furnished, big bar at the middle. The food is good, they have a next door oyster bar as well, good selection of Scottish dishes and sea-food

The Café Royal is a lovely pub with fantastic paintings. The fish and chips are brilliant - maybe I was too hungry - but no, they were sensational. Try them!! Lovely setting with very friendly staff & good value for money.

Made reservations before we left the States. The restaurant was an easy walk from the Royal Mile. The bar is right next to the restaurant which made the restaurant very loud. The service was excellent. We started our meal with the Oysters, which were amazing....More

I was part of a group of 40/50 year old males visiting Edinburgh for the European Rugby finals. We visited the Cafe Royal on the Friday afternoon and spent a very enjoyable few hours relaxing following our long train journey to Edinburgh - plenty of...More

Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to
play. This is the city’s central business district
with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many
of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest
clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street
helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned
Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric
