What an array of cakes, all homemade. Coffee cups large and steaming. My hot chocolate was chocolatty but not too sweet. Service was excellent and friendly. The whole shop was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy on a blustery day.

We would defy anyone not to go in after viewing the window contents of cakes and pastries. If you did pass it by, what a mistake. All home made on the premises and includes soup and savouries. Hugely welcoming owner and staff. North of Princes...More

Yes, I saw the title somewhere else and thought it is the best match for Stockbridge Kitchen. :) Was in Stockbridge again in November and December and wanted to share two pictures of the awesome apricot tart and the winter staple, Soup and Toastie. The...More

Went in for a takeaway snack and was confronted by lots of savoury pastries, cakes and scones. Opted for a chicken pie which was delicious. Atmosphere was warm and inviting. Service was good. Will definitely sit in next time.

We entered this restaurant due to a rain storm hitting us as we passed by. Good fortune was shining on us. We had struck gold with the choice of lunch that was on offer. Our daughters went for the chicken and rice soup, with lumps...More

Returned to Stockbridge Kitchen to find new seasonal cakes and sweets. Very nice. I can highly recommend the lemon blueberry cake. Callum, the gentleman working there, makes excellent coffees and a very pleasant outgoing personality which makes the place very cozy. I was lucky on...More

Stopped off for a quick cup of tea & a snack on our last morning in Edinburgh. Great real leaf tea (in the heaviest tea pot ever!) & really yummy savoury pastries (the sweet pastries looked pretty good too!)

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement
