It was a Saturday the 25th March, about 6pm the pub was already getting crowded, we had problems finding space, because the pub doesn't serve food upstairs, after we got a seat, I had to go ask staff for some menus, the girl at the bar was helpful asked where about we are sitting and said she'll bring some over.... Really good pub with god atmosphere, I enjoyed the music and the spooky decoration. The drinks a little bit expensive, and the service is ok.

Came on a Saturday afternoon on my hen party for cocktails. Even though it was around lunchtime and the rugby was on we were served quickly and got seats. Frankenstein's monster appeared and the special effects were great. The gothic building looks brilliant and drinks are reasonably priced too.

I went there with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. The food is good, the drinks aren't overpriced and we even had frankenstein's monster pop out every once in a while ;) Thanks to the dj for my birthday announcement :p

We walked past this bar the evening before and mentioned it would be a good place to watch the rugby match the next day as we had failed to get tickets! We arrived about 25 minutes into the game and the bar was full on both floors but it was such an excellent atmosphere! We made our way over to... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
