Very laid back atmosphere with some delicious craft beers. We were able to find a table very quickly and the bartenders were very knowledgeable about the beers.

Visited Brewdog this week. As usual a great selection of beers on tap. Good atmosphere in bar and always great to see a wide variety of people in sampling the beer. Bar staff very knowledgable and friendly. My only negative point is the bar is a bit small. Hopefully in the future can get a larger premises in Edinburgh.

i just dont get Brewdog. They seem to specialise in beers which have high amounts of alcohol in them . There really doesnt seem to be much emphasis on what the beers taste like. The pub itself is fine. I would just prefer it if they had a frew more beers with normal amounts of alcohol in them.

As usual for BD bars, the location is modern and central. As well, prices are pretty high, I guess that's goes along with quality craft beer. The bar tends to be quickly overcrowded and music could be much better used. Beer is brilliant!

Excellent thin crust pizza and a good selection of brews that changes enough so you don't get bored. Fun atmosphere, not overly crowded but you can pile a bunch of folks into a booth if you'd like.

Finding good beer in the UK can be a challenge. With many of the pubs owned by large scale breweries pedaling bland, pale boring brews, as well as the English tax system which imposes taxes based on alcohol content, most visits to pubs are enjoyable for the social atmosphere and the wonderful mood inside but disappoint when you take your... We like to check out brewdog whenever we are in a city with one. As always not necessarily in an inviting location and not sure I would want to go there at night but during the day it was fine. Had a flight of beers - you can pick the flight yourself and the price is calculated accordingly - and... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
