The coffee here is consistently good, I always go here for coffee when visiting Edinburgh and often have breakfast too.

Popped in here as a welcome change to all of the chain coffee shops nearby but wish I hadn't bothered. Hipster staff were not very attentive (despite the place being virtually empty) and the coffee was horrible. Coffee beans burnt and far too hot. The carrot cake was pretty good, although a measly portion I felt. Must try harder.

I had lunch here today, sweet potato with chilli soup served with bread. A very good option, very taste. Small independent coffee place with personality. Smiling staff and very friendly service. 100% recommended.

I was looking with a friend for a different place to have breakfast and while walking my eyes drops in this bar... inside it's small but cozy and you are welcomed with a various choice of cakes... and fresh made scones! We had that with some jam and butter (ok, not clotted cream but was anyway good). We had a... More

Was here with 2 of my friends this afternoon. Coffee Shop looks rather small. Good for a take away coffee, but not for dinning really. What if you need to pee? Or wash your hands after a wee snack? Really disappointed a coffee shop with no washroom or toilet. After ordering I asked staff any toilets? Staff said we don't... More

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
