This is a very busy restaurant in the city centre. The service is very good with a warm welcome when you arrive and attentive staff looking after you during your meal

Had booked this in advance of our weekend to Edinburgh and so glad we did. On arriving at restaurant were not impressed. Window was awful and looked for all the world like a cheap cafe. Once we were in and seated we were greeted by our waitress Livia! She was great fun and very helpful with our menu choices! Place... More

Visited again a week ago Saturday. One of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. Why ? 1) Great food 2) Excellent service 3) Friendly staff 4) Local for me within walking distance Recommend the wild boar ravioli. Never had wild boar before but really enjoyed it. Desserts also superb.

Was there with my new wife last night. After a month of wedding celebrations in both Mexico and Scotland we spent a few days relaxing in the capital and made the best decision to eat here. The warm welcome we received was lovely and this was from all the staff upon our arrival. Pasquale and Olivia not only made us... More

Amazing affordable food with the friendliest service you could want. I soon got chatting with our waitress, who upon hearing that this was my first trip to Edinburgh started a lovely conversation about the best things to do whilst here. This was so lovely as it's always better to have personal, local recommendations!! Would definitely return, so impressed with the... More

We love this restaurant. We stopped here for lunch one day, and, even though we arrived prior to their normal opening time, they allowed us to be seated, and they quickly took our order. They were so kind and understanding, and our food arrived very quickly. Our food was hot, fresh, authentic, and amazingly good!!! The price was also very... More

We found this little restaurant on our last night in Edinburgh and so pleased we did. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially our waitress (didn't get her name) who couldn't have been more obliging. We ordered options that weren't on the menu as well as gluten free choices and all the food was of the highest standard. Currently... More

We visited this place one Friday night. The back room is very basic and in need of a little taste of Italy on the walls. It would really brighten the place up. However, despite that, the food was good and the service was excellent. Price-wise, it was reasonable, but the side dishes, i.e., £4.50 for a small dish of broccoli,... More

Such a lovely lunch today - fantastic value lunch and the coffee is amazing according to my Italian friend sat here too :-) we had the Pollo Milanese and the hot sausage rigatoni. Both brilliant. Have a negroni if you come here - one of the best I've ever had (and I've had a LOT!!). Thank you Frizzante!

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
