I visited with my friend on Saturday afternoon - we had a delicious salted caramel macaroon and a cup of tea. The menu board sounded delicious and the variety of cakes looked amazing. This is a small place so we were delighted that a table became available ... easy to see why it is so popular. Staff are lovely.

Loved this quaint French cafe; found it by accident inEdinburgh. You have to look through the smaller streets off the main shopping street, to come across little gems, such as this. The staff is super friendly, and the ambiance so cozy. Loved the fresh pastries and the extra touch of cocoa powder ( with a little cool design ) on... More

This became our regular coffee/breakfast stop while visiting Edinburgh. La Barantine is a charming cafe with equally charming staff. Yan in particular was engaging and fun. Union Coffee is served with the freshest pastries we've ever had. It is a French cafe and all the staff speak French - they will indulge anyone who wishes to brush up on their... More

There are a lot of little cafes in the bruntsfield area. And everyone has heir idea of the perfect coffee. I stopped drinking coffee a long time ago so finding a good tea in a coffee shop is sometimes not easy. Earl Gray is my choice with a slice of lemon and Green Tea for my wife was delivered perfectly.... More

This small cafe is charming, friendly and very French. Welcomed in French as we walked in; we sat at a small table in this little cafe. Varieties of French bread for sale to take away, patisseries looked amazing! I opted for a lovely "savoie" baguette which was amazing! Fresh ingredients and a great combination of ham, raclette cheese and Dijon... More

We dropped in for coffee and baguette, essentially on a whim as we had been walking quite a lot in orientating ourselves on our short break in the city and required R&R. A great find. French to the core - and that's not a bad thing - with lovely coffee and yummy fresh bread AND friendly staff. Recommended.

I like the very French atmosphere in the place. The baguette is absolutely perfect and the soup with baguette makes an excellent lunch. On the downside (leading to one star deduction): it seems not all of the sweet pastries are made freshly on a daily basis as I recently had a slightly dry Eclaire. But overall it's a great place...
