Having been out for a wander I popped in for a bite. Scallops starter and rabbit main. The scallops were fantastic and the rabbit good but a bit dry. Staff were very good and I liked the setting. I will be back and will bring...More

Must have a reservation as this place has may 7 tables. It is well run with a small but memorable menu that may have been as good as any restaurant we ate in during our 10 days in Scotland. Low key and informal, but great...More

A nice meal in a very small restaurant, very simply decorated. Service was very good. Dessert (lemon posset) was outstanding. Starters and mains also very nice but a little too small. We went for a la carte rather than one of the tasting menus, and...More

The food is absolutely outstanding. The presentation of the food is outstanding. The staff are outstanding. My only criticism is the tables are a bit close together and there isn't much room once you are sitting down.

Went to this restaurant for a business meal., good menu with various options. Restaurant is a little on the small side, however the food and service were great.

A group of good friends visited Purslane restaurant this October and had a wonderful experience. Very good food, excellent service and an intimate atmosphere in this very small restaurant with some 20 seats. Try it!

This is a wonderfully quaint restaurant in Stockbridge which you can easily walk past (we managed to anyway...). We came here to celebrate my dad's birthday and were not let down. I had a roe deer pie for starter which was absolutely incredible. I had...More

First time visiting purslane and was not disappointed in the slightest. Very small restaurant but added to the personal 1 to 1 table experience. We went for the 7 dish tasting with premium wine pairing. Simply wow. Couldn't fault it what so ever. Service was...More

We had the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Outstanding! Great attention to timing and detail. It was evident the chef chose every tiny ingredient and spice for each dish with amazing results. Some of the courses I would never have chosen, but ended...More

Came here as a surprise for my birthday. The meal me and my partner went with was a 7 course with matching wines for each course. First of all the place. The place is in a nice area of Edinburgh just on the outskirts of...More

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement

No, it's in the lower ground floor of a building and has stone steps down to it, which is unfortunate if you are not so able bodied as its a great restaurant.

Anna, I was a visitor there a couple of months ago. You can call the restaurant directly. However, it is a small indoor space and I doubt they take dogs.
