Light lunch with my partner after a few hours volunteering in a local charity shop. Relaxing environment and friendly staff. Basic menu but everything you would want from all day breakfast dishes to nice lunch options. Dog friendly which fine for us but may put people off and a loyalty scheme for coffees! We will return.

Ate here on Sunday morning before exploring Stockbridge market and charity shops. I had scrambled eggs with bacon and avocado and my husband had bagel with bacon and cream cheese, it was quite busy which was expected as it was a lovely spring morning and we didn't really have to wait long, the coffee was super strong which really helped... We came for lunch here when it was pretty busy, but despite that the service was super friendly and super fast. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. Would recommend and would return!

Tea coffee and a cake but with such a rustic authentic feel. The latte was one of the best ever. Go out of your way to enjoy a break here. Quite when we arrived at 1100 hours getting busy as we leave. Enjoy.

Visited here years ago and we returned a few weeks back for an impromptu lunch. Unfortunately the cafe was exceptionally busy and so the service was slow and perhaps not up to the usual standard. We both ordered Croque Monsieur and some soup. Very tasty and a just right for lunch. The menu is varied enough to cater for all... More

Little French cafe in the heart of Stockbridge. Love the colours and the informal seating and decor. Nice enough cafe serving sandwiches, cakes and light meals. Staff are very friendly and is dog friendly.

Patesserie Florentin is unique. It's neither Hipster nor sleek & modern nor a traditional cafe. Most of the influences are French but there's a bit of Italian in there too. But who knows when. It is decidedly Stockbridge. That said, I'd happily make it my second home. A very comfortable place to be with great coffee and lots of tasty... More

Have been here before but sat outside and endured the noise of traffic on cobbled streets.. I'm so glad that this time my partner and i sat inside to enjoy a delicious lunch. The soup was good but i wish i'd ordered my partner's club sandwich which was very fresh and yummy. Pricing is good although the club sandwich maybe... More

There is a new choice of breakfast quiche with baked beans which I prefer to the insipid mixed green salad. Recently, I had the family dog with me, who was made very welcome with a bowl of water and biscuit. They also have pastries.

We found this place by luck, it was a pleasant surprise, such friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. We would certainly recommend it to passers by.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
