During my first visit to The Larder I was so amazed at the quality, taste and value for money of my breakfast I that couldn’t wait to visit again. We rearranged our trip to Scotland 3 times (COVID cancellations), finally after 2 years we made...it back for our second visit! So glad that I booked a table, the place was full with everyone commenting on the quality of their food, the lovely service and the ambiance. Well done to Tom and the team, well worth the 226 mile journey. We will be back again!More

Would have given this place 5 out of 5 stars because the food was very tasty, staff was friendly and space was well decorated and cosy. However, there were a couple of issues: - long waiting time for food. My drink was pretty much cold...and almost finished by the time breakfast arrived. - this business is actually made of two rooms, completely separate (buildings are next to each other). That said, kitchen and toilet are in one of them only. That meant that in order to go to the toilet we would have to put our coats on, go outside, enter the other space, so on so on. Worse than that in my opinion is that food is brought to you in takeaway boxes, and you’re then requested to transfer the food to a plate. Needless to say, no pictures of food on this review because my plate post transfer looked a mess! 😥 Overall it was a good place to eat, but that in my opinion needs a lot of renovation work in order to be more practical for the customer that goes in.More

A wonderful find with a lovely ambience, fantastic staff and absolutely gorgeous food. Nothing was too much trouble and we will be heading straight there when we return to Edinburgh in January. Very well deserving of all the excellent reviews it receives!

My Server was Tom who was really friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff care about their Customers and this is also reflected in their food. The breakfast here is epic, fresh and locally sourced produce and the Veggie Haggis...looked home made and was superb. Booking is essential as it was full within 10 minutes of opening. This is "probably" the best quality Breakfast in Edinburgh and was so good I went back twice in 3 days - I have been here quite regularly when in Town and the food is always excellent and am looking forward to my next visit. A must for anyone visiting Edinburgh - Highly recommended.More

Really interesting combination for veggie breakfast- very far removed from the greasy english- which of course does have its place- this had very refined cooking and ingredients- not sure that they compliment each other and felt more like it should be a lunch- nethertheless it...was sublime and scones and hash really gorgeousMore

I absolutely loved my visit to the Edinburgh Larder! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I had the Hash and it was super. I love that the place is homey and uses seasonality/produce in its decor....The use of local/seasonal ingredients is great and the options for Vegetarians/Pescatarians is wonderful. There were queues forming outside showing how popular it is….totally understand why. Would 100% recommend and visit again!!More

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
