Whilst staying in a B&B on West Coates we were never too far away from an excellent eating place. Five minutes’ walk down the road we came across Metro West End on Haymarket Terrace, which was a restaurant attached to the Apex hotel. Immediately struck...More

Booked for last minute Mother’s Day lunch on their ‘wine and dine’ £40 deal for two and it was perfectly pleasant. The place was empty except for one business woman having a late lunch, which is a shame as the place was pleasant enough, the...More

Always really dubious of hotel restaurants but we were all pleasently surprised by this one... so much so, we ate here both nights of our stay. We would reccomemd the flat iron steak in particular, the burger and fish and chips.

It was a shame that on a Friday night they had run out of the Mussels and the Venison. Meal was very enjoyable, biggest issue was the cost of the wine. A£10 voucher brought our bottle down to £23 but it was still very expensive...More

Stumbled upon this place looking for a restaurant nearby to Haymarket station. Most of the local pub restaurants were full to bursting with the usual Saturday night crowd as well as rowdy football supporters as there was a Euro match showing. We took a short...More

We stayed at the Apex and dined in the Metro West End on the Saturday evening, we really enjoyed our meal. We visited in January so the hotel and restaurant were quiet. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the staff were very friendly and...More

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along

In the heart of the Haymarket area of Edinburgh, the Metro West End Restaurant and Bar is just a stone’s throw away from the city centre. The restaurant and bar offers quiet, informal dining in a relaxed atmosphere to both hotel guests and visitors alike. Metro West End is friendly and welcoming, with the modern colours and shapes adding to the contemporary feel that is offered by the fresh food on both the bar and restaurant menus. The food is both traditional in the form of a Taste of Scotland menu offering many Scottish favourites and meets more contemporary tastes throughout the al a carte menu that contains world-wide influences.
