The decor of the restaurant has a modern and sleek interior, but possibly a little too dim in some places upstairs if you like to properly see your food. You're given plenty of time to decide what you'd like to get and I found the...More

Visited here with a group of friends on the 1st December for some dinner. Personally I ordered the rump steak and the dripping chips, both were absolutely fantastic and really should have got the Chop House a 5* review. This is however where the positives...More

We tried some lovely St Hallet red wine paired with food. Delicious scallop and chicken skewers. The bar has soft lighting and good design. Would recommend taking a look at this hidden gem.

• Table was not ready when we arrived, • Decor is sleazy student bar yet it charges high end premium prices for food, • There was plastic in my drink, had to get another one, • Ordered two steaks "'medium", both were served extremely rare...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Chop House Market Street was established in August 2016 following the success of Chop House Leith. We have a strong focus on beef provenance, selecting only the highest grade of steak which is dry-aged in-house then cooked over an open flame, charcoal grill. Our first class steak offering is backed up by an extensive wine list from around the world and exceptional cocktail list.
