We stopped in here as we were passing and looking for somewhere for dinner. We ordered vegetable tempura (5 pieces, 4 of which were pepper), gyoza which didn't taste very fresh and also teriyaki sirloin (tough and fatty) The rice we got wasn't particularly well...More

We looked at reviews before booking this place to celebrate my daughter’s birthday ( she loves Japanese food ) The place is admittedly a little shabby looking and the ladies toilet wasn’t very clean but the food and service is excellent We had very good...More

We arrived here extremely excited to try out a new place and were, instead, extremely disappointed. The place was freezing. Drinks came and I ordered an orange juice, glass was barely half full but still decided to order. The dumplings were nice though I suspect...More

Loved the food but we only ordered started as it was so cold in the restaurant. Waitress seems to be staring at us as we stopped for an early dinner and we were the only ones there.. please please turn the heating on so I...More

Having checked out Japanese restaurants on Trip Advisor we decided to come to Tangs. There was a very warm welcome by the waiter. However the speed of service of just our drinks should have been a warning. We ordered our food. Everything was so slow...More

We revisited tang's after a great first visit & weren't disappointed. There was a bit of a wait (40 mins) after ordering for our food to arrive but it was worth the wait. Delicious, freshly cooked food, tasty and yummy. We will be back

Went here for a friends birthday and was pleasantly surprised, fantastic service, delicious food and a different but welcome ambience from most restaurants in Edinburgh.

We've eaten at Tang's for years and had some lovely meals. 1st time in at least a year and probably the most disappointing Japanese meal we've ever had. Off-tasting tuna sashimi, chicken teriyaki made from sliced supermarket frozen-style, tough fillets, thin sauce. Nothing like meals...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
