I work in the Old Town, was looking for somewhere new to get my lunch and found this place. Gannet and Guga is an absolute gem- I went in for summer rolls but then changed my mind and had a build-your-own Banh Mi. I went...More

We wanted a small snack and wanted something healthy. Went for the jerk chicken in sourdough bread. The mango chutney was where the good news stopped. Too much onion, not much chicken, chicken had a funky taste of it having been cooked a while ago,...More

Hi Sara Just wanted to respond quickly to your review. Firstly, thanks for coming down to try our small independent sandwich bar. I am obviously sad you didn't enjoy your meal. Just to answer your points. We use a free range chicken from a smaller...More

This is a small place under some arches with a few high bench seats inside and a few tables outside for summer. I think it probably does a lot of take away food. The filled rolls we had were made with very good bread. I...More

What a find in the Arches just a 2 minute walk from Waverly. Has to kill and this filled the gap perfectly. The smells and open kitchen it is easy to see everything is fresh. Would highly recommend, will return when back in Edinburgh.

Are you a food lover or just want to try something different? Stop searching and go to Gannet and Guga. We had an amazing build-your-own Banh Mi for a great low price. Service was great and in for a chat. Love the place!

We came here while waiting for our train to London. I’m not a vegan but I love the vegan soup! The food is made fresh, can taste the mango on the sandwich!

Reliably tasty soups and sandwiches, usually some kind of interesting stew option too. Friendly staff, good tunes, tasty batch brew coffee.

I went to Gannet and Guga for the first time between Christmas and New Year with my sister, brother in Law and my niece. The person who was serving there that day was so nice and helpful, he gave us lots of recommendations and basically...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
