High quality and tasty sandwiches! I visit this place every time I'm in the area. My favourite sandwich has to be salmon with pickled beetroot, avocado and horseradish sauce but I also tried other sandwiches and they are all amazing! People preparing the food are...More

Always a friendly welcome and lots of knowledgeable chat from the owner as your selection prepared. Delicious sandwiches soup and cakes. Good to drop into for a snack or a more leisurely seat outside weather permitting.

On both trips I've taken to Edinburgh I've stopped in for a tea. Both times the service was great and the two people were very nice. I will go again when I get back to Edinburgh for my next visit.

Went here for a wee change. I won't be back. Ordered the Big Muffaletta, and am now sitting with a revolting taste in my mouth and a sore stomache. I asked for tomato and rocket to be added and got neither resulting in a dry...More

I had coronation chicken sandwich and it was the best meal I had in Edinburgh so I came back again before I left Edinburgh. Not only the food was fresh and delicious, but the staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming.

We wanted a small snack and wanted something healthy. Went for the jerk chicken in sourdough bread. The mango chutney was where the good news stopped. Too much onion, not much chicken, chicken had a funky taste of it having been cooked a while ago,...More

Hi Sara Just wanted to respond quickly to your review. Firstly, thanks for coming down to try our small independent sandwich bar. I am obviously sad you didn't enjoy your meal. Just to answer your points. We use a free range chicken from a smaller...More

This is a small place under some arches with a few high bench seats inside and a few tables outside for summer. I think it probably does a lot of take away food. The filled rolls we had were made with very good bread. I...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
