The service staff was amazing. I had never before tried fish cakes prior to this and was not disappointed. I was with a group of 15 people as part of a tour, and no one I can remember complained. The laid back environment, complete with street and water front views gives it an air of sophistication.

We had a lovely mixed plate, good portion of fab chips and mushy peas. Good service and wonderful view seated in the window

Went twice over the space of a short visit. The sit-down restaurant has a good ambience for what it is and a selection of chippie type dishes but a good deal more. I had a burger with (Stornoway!) black pudding on one visit and a superb Chicken and Leek Pie on another. Prices are reasonable and the waitress was cheerful... More

Visited here for a lunch, the menu is great for a fish restaurant but the added extra of the takeaway menu would have been better. Saying that the food is lovely and the kids menu is superb. Unfortunately the staff aren't the friendliest, the girl pretty much dumped the high chair at our table...the fact 'it takes more muscles to... More

Called in here one evening but I have to admit we were disappointed. The decor is very nice but the place has no atmosphere. We ordered fish and chips which I have to say was not hot only warm we then discovered the place was due to close for the evening which might explain a few things like the lady... More

Fish and chips was lovely and Lady who was serving food very nice but my husbands burger was undercooked and raw in the middle so he had to return it and that put him off a bit from eating for the rest of the day;) Fortunately his stomach was OK next day:)

Went to this restaurant today and was delighted with the range of gluten free food available. The waitress who served our table knew what gluten free food was available and told me that they also had gluten free batter. She told me that anyone who tried it reported it was delicious. I had fish in gluten free batter and it... More

The DiCiacca family have been running successful restaurants in Oban for 3 generations. Onorio and Elvira first came to Oban from Picinisco, Italy in 1959 to open their first chip shop. The Family's dedication to their customers and delicious recipes with big Italian flavours, have kept the Locals and the Visitors to Oban full and happy for generations. Renato and son Antonio, continue this long line of culinary tradition with the Oban Fish Bar & Restaurant and Nories Fish & Chip shop, which is just a little further along on George Street in Oban. Being in The Seafood Capital of Scotland, The Oban Fish Bar & Restaurant offers a wide choice of Fish and Seafood to tantalise your taste buds, but for the non fish eaters amongst you, enjoy the hand cut chips, try the delicious homemade Italian dishes or give the Gourmet Burgers from the local butcher a go. Maybe you're looking for authentic handmade Stone Baked Italian Pizza's? We've got that covered as well. Renato also likes to keep up with the latest developments which means we now also offer Gluten Free batter so everyone can enjoy the DiCiacca Family's delicious dishes.
