My wife and I enjoyed a great week in Oban and the local area. We were keen to have special meal on our last evening and we were not disappointed!! David made us feel so welcome and his passion for the food and wine on...offer to his customers was highly infectious. The meal was superb. The wines were exquisite. Believe me a meal at this restaurant will be a top memory of your time in Oban. Book it and enjoy it!!More

There are plenty of good places to eat in Oban, but Etive takes fine dining to another level. Small and unobtrusive from outside, but cosy and tastefully decorated. Only a small number of covers due to Covid restrictions, but this enables the two man team...to maintain a high standard. David, the host/waiter/sommelier made us very welcome and guided us through the various courses with ease and flair. Food was exquisite, with a few theatrical flourishes which added to a fun night out. We did not indulge in the wine flight, but I'm sure they were perfect choices given David's knowledge and attention to detail. Not a cheap option, but superb for a special occasion, and we all need a bit of indulgence after a difficult year!More

Hi We came to treat ourselves to a meal, we do this every year around this time. We were not disappointed, we were greeted and looked after all evening and were served a wonderful 7 course taster menu. The menu is inspired by land and...sea and this was portrayed in each course. This deserves a michelin guide and is well on its way to a star. For two people to achieve this standard is amazing and their hardworked is showing. We even received a wonderful handmade stain glass decoration. We will be back again.More

The creativity at Etive goes beyond the food. In the face of the Covid challenge and its ever-changing restrictions, they’ve kept coming up with new ways to serve their customers. At-home dining, lunchtime opening, mini tasting menus - they are always adapting; always inventive. This,...of course, extends to the food, too. The mini (3 course) tasting menu we had today was Italian inspired, with theatrical flourishes, wonderful flavours, sublimely perfect pasta, a chocolate soufflé that would bring tears to a glass eye and some wonderful wines. A fabulous experience again. Thanks, guys.More

Visited in September, a Friday night out on holiday in this beautiful part of Scotland. Booked well in advance to secure table. David, the host, was brilliant from start to finish, explaining each course as it arrived and recommending an excellent wine to accompany the...food. I had the best cocktail I have ever tasted with the “McNean Spirit” ....... it was amazing! Each course on the tasting menu was simply outstanding both in presentation and flavours, the amuse bouche on the dry ice plating was incredible! Many kudos to the two guys who run this place, it is quite simply, lovely. We are already making arrangements to visit again in the Spring with friends. It surely cannot be too long before a first Michelin star is awarded to this warm and intimate restaurant! Thank you for a lovely evening. L & B HornMore

Obans best fine dining experience. Service is exceptional. Food is local, seasonal and beautifully presented. Had the tasting menu, nice touches throughout the meal. I’d recommend to go there and it will speak for itself! 👌🏻
