We went to Samphire with high expectations and were not disappointed. The food was wonderful and I was delighted that I could get a glass of champagne! The staff were excellent, attentive but not overbearing.
Great welcome and wonderful food and service.
First meal out since beginning g of L9ckdown in March 2020.
Wouldn't miss having a meal here when passing through on my way to Islay
Just the best and thank you.
Would need to book beforehand
Food was very good.. I especially enjoyed the daily special-baby squid.. But I think the whole experience would not be the same if it wasn't for a super friendly and effective staff. Definitely worth a visit!
We enjoyed a wonderful meal and warm, welcoming and professional service at this First Class restaurant in Inveraray. The cooking was accomplished, well presented and all dishes were delicious. We started with Cajun floured squid and queen scallops cooked in a garlic butter. Our mains...were loin of hake wrapped in pancetta and served in a white wine, butter, chilli & chive sauce with butter beans and peas. We had side dishes of small cut fries and new herb scented potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our dessert was a caramelised passion fruit tart on a shortbread base with passion fruit coulis & a light vanilla cream. Light and a nice sharpness to taste. Absolutely divine across all dishes. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of SA Chenin Blanc from Franschhoek to accompany our meal. We rounded off a great meal & evening with a liquor & Ardbeg whiskey. 10 out of 10 to both the Chef, Kitchen team & Front of House. This was our first visit to Samphire but certainly not our last. When next in Inveraray we will most certainly book in advance and return. Highly recommended.More
Had the most amazing meal with family. All three courses were sublime, the service was also fantastic. The quality of fish is first class, it really is a top tier restaurant. I cannot recommend enough. We will absolutely come again.
Had lunch here with my son. We are both big seafood fans and ordered the seafood platter, swapping the Oysters for extra Langoustines. We followed with Passion Fruit Tart and Sticky Toffee Pudding. The food was amazing and the service really friendly and attention.
Would...definitely recommend and will certainly be back
We have been to Inveraray a couple of times before but never been able to get a table at this restaurant, well it’s been well worth the wait the staff were friendly and very attentive and the langoustines were delicious my wife had the hake...not being a particularly fishy, thought it was one of the best meals she had ever had. All in all a great experience can’t recommend this place highly enough.More
We recently moved into the area and coming out of lockdown decided to try Samphire this evening for my husband's 65th birthday. Did not disappoint. The food was quality, excellent portions and the service was friendly, attentive without being intrusive. Started with squid, husband had...haddock chowder and then followed by seafood stew and he had Aberdeen Angus burger. The batter on the onion rings is the lightest we have had. Dessert was really yummy and the price was reasonable for the quality and quantity. Will definitely be visiting again and again.More
We came here for dinner last night. It is a Lovely restaurant, very attentive service, and fantastic food and wine. We had scallops, and mussels followed by fish and chips and seafood stew. Would highly recommend: portions were fresh, generous and delicious.
