Don’t miss this little hidden gem of a restaurant in Inveraray. Really excellent good value home cooked food and friendly service from the owners. We had a couple of evening meals there while visiting the area recently and would highly recommend the fish cakes and...the home made high quality steak pie and also the chicken and leak pie all washed down with a nice bottle of wine……perfect.More
We got the last table - thank goodness! Just so friendly, easy going, welcoming kitchen-type cozy diner. To be honest, we didn't expect anything other than a nice meal. It was first class, start to finish. And great service too. Its a place where you...would be equally comfortable having tea and cake or a full meal. Best steak pie in years.
Rarely find food of this standard at this price.More
visited with my 2 little boys and husband. The lady who served us was very attentive, great kids meals and really reasonable, woukd definitely recommend for families. highchair etc all cleaned before use and mask worn by hostess, felt very safe with all the extra...covid protocols like hand gel etc on entry.
Food was good, sticky toffee excellent, would visit again, definitely recommend.More
On Holiday in the area for a week so we stopped off for an evening meal with our friends last week. Great food, would recomend the pies as they have a proper pastry all round and not just a slab put on top of a...basin, beutiful !! as we say in Norfolk, Fish cakes very lovely too and a good menu choice. Good size helpings plenty of gravy as well, which is always a bonus. We were looked after very well by the host and we loved it so much that we came back at the end of the week for another dinner, again just as good. Would definately recomend. Thanks, and will be back again if we are in the area.More
Four of us came for supper whilst staying in the area. There was a welcoming and friendly feel right from the start. Having had a large lunch earlier in the day, we only had a light supper of pate and cooked brie wedges, but both...were extremely good. and our visit to the Cottage contributed a lot to the start of our happy visit to Inverary and then western Argyll. Unpretentious but good value for money.More
This restaurant came highly recommended from our hotelier so gave it a go and just loved it. It’s not glam, it’s homely, extremely friendly and welcoming. The staff were truly wonderful chatty and interested in your journey and the meals generous and hearty which was...just what we needed after a days paddling on the loch. Just brilliant.More
Lovy meal in this friendly, family owned restaurant. Garlic mushrooms followed by a wonderful chicken curry. My wife had a gorgeous burger and we enjoyed a sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble.
Really good service with great Covid precautions. Tables well spaced, masks in place...and constant sanitising of the staffs hands.

I just looked at the feature on The Cottage within Tripadvisor’s website - it states that they cater for breakfast, lunch, dinner & brunch.
We visited for a light but late lunch and my husband had a fried egg roll.
