Cant thank Rob and his staff enough for the wonderful Christmas lunch that 8 friends had yesterday at Carriages. Rob couldn't do enough for all the diners and his staff were so attentive. The food was out of this world and excellent value for money. There were 6 starters, 6 mains and 6 desserts to choose from, followed by coffee... More

Their set Christmas menu is excellent value for money - and delicious too. It is many years since I have been to Carriages but will most definitely be back.

Thing is about Aberdeen that is a very isolated sort of place and thus there are few comparisons that can be made other than what is available in Aberdeen. Had been here several years back when it was renowned for its 'bar suppers' as they were called. Recent visit and not really much had changed, food was reasonably good and... More

This place was always number one for real ales, probably eight on the hand pumps, some the usual suspects and add a few interesting guests. Not so now. You'll get five and maybe six but its the same stuff week in and week out and I am afraid the charm has gone from this place. Added to that is the... More

Nice bar and restaurant . Had 2 haddock peas and chips. Large fresh piece of fish £11.95 each which I thought was expensive but probably not for Aberdeen . Staff are nice and there is a nice quiet ambience in the restaurant and bar.

We choose to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant, the menu is the same Good atmosphere in the bar, numerous real ales on draft and sport on the TV. The food was excellent, nicest chips I've had for a long time. Good value for money and well worth a visit.
