Owner is the rudest person you could ever met. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Treats customers and staff with no respect.

I ordered a takeaway from here and as soon as I arrived the owner Luigi was roaring and shouting out the back giving off about customers . I handed him 20 pound and he immediately started giving off about me not having the correct change...and that I should come with the right money the next time. This is the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. Food was grand though.More

Unbelievable service and food. I had the Alfredo and it was glorious. Pasta was fresh, perfect portion size. Would highly recommend. Very interactive on their Facebook page for pre ordering due to covid - 19. The takeaway service was very professional and well laid out.

Went for a Sunday tea time dinner on the spur of the moment at 6pm. Only people in the restaurant. Very busy for take away meals. Lovely waitress and owner very friendly. Food great and very reasonable indeed. Note - Cash only , no cards.

LaGondola is my favourite restaurant. The atmosphere is like no other place and I love the opera music in the background. Excellent value for money, great chips and authentic Italian food.

If you like Italian food, then you’ll love La Gondola and you’ll especially love Luigi who adds an extra dimension with his colourful and infectious personality. My favourite eatery! The staff are excellent, all friendly, courteous and always on hand to provide any help if and...when required. I cannot highlight them enough. The have also made their premises wheelchair friendly. Lower sink and plenty of handrails for added assistant. The corridor to the toilets are narrow, but they were restricted by the building, but should be accessible by “most” wheelchairs. They have a portable ramp into the building. Mention wheelchair when booking and the ramp is already in place by the time you arrive, no waiting around for it to be placed.More

Have returned to La Gondola several times over the years and am yet to be disappointed! This visit was no different. This weekend we had originally booked a table at 8pm for 10 people then added on an 11th last minute. Due to the size...of our group & the time of our booking Luigi (the owner) sent us a copy of the menu to pre order from. La Gondola is a small busy restaurant & also offers a takeaway service which is equally as busy with a good choice of dishes available. Another point to note is that it has no card machine however there is an ATM just across the road. You can also bring your own bottle for a small corkage fee, again there is an off licence opposite the restaurant. They also have a portable ramp for any wheelchair users to easily access the restaurant available at all times which we required on this visit. As always the food was amazing! & Luigi & his staff were friendly & attentive throughout. As great as the starters & mains were presented the Flaming Baked Alaska stole the show! Our group are already planning the next visit.More

The food in La Gondola is of decent standard. However, customer service is a vital aspect of any restaurant, and in which case I am regrettably confident in stating that this restaurant severely lacks. I found that the owner/chef of this restaurant has a very...hot temper which he directs to his own customers. I found myself extremely uncomfortable in this atmosphere to the extent where I no longer wanted my food. I could also hear the waitress being shouted at from the kitchen, and I feel that this is a highly unprofessional manner and send the said waitress my sympathies for being a subject to such verbal aggression. Overall, the poor attitude and aggressive mannerisms shown by the owner of this restaurant created an unpleasant atmosphere, which is very unfortunate as it makes for an unenjoyable experience in which to enjoy my food. A severe attitude adjustment is highly recommended.More

Been here now a few times and enjoyed it each and every one. Basic menu but the food hits the spot, pity there wasn't a greater choice. Decor could be upgraded.

They could certainly take that many. You can get drinks from the bar and off licence next door. I am sure if you contact Luigi on the Facebook page he will help out. If you go on to Facebook you can request a menu. The... More
