We always have a great meal here, the food is delicious and such a change from everywhere else.. Simon ,Berna and their staff are so friendly it’s like visiting family ! The restaurant is quite small and that’s part of the attraction of Cedar. We...love it.More

We enjoyed our visit to Cedar very much. Just passing through Derry and only one night for a nice dinner. The setting is small and romantic, with soft relaxing lighting and a warm welcome. Reserve in advance to make sure you get a table! We...shared meze and enjoyed all of these very much, but for me the standout was the House Special Kibbeh. I have lived in Middle Eastern neighborhoods and tried my share of kibbeh made by both home cooks and professionals, but the flavors and textures in this dish (including the well-matched sides) were exceptional. I notice that another reviewer has complained about the price/ portion sizes but in my opinion, this meal was a great way to enjoy a variety of delicious bites without overdoing it. This is not a pub or a kebab stand, it's a lovely family restaurant where everything is made from scratch, so in that sense I think the prices are understandable.More

We’ve had average, good, and very good food in Ireland/Northern Ireland over the last 2.5 weeks but this meal was in another class. It was truly exceptional. The flavors were delicious and unique. The ingredients were extremely fresh. This is a meal we will not...forget! We had two mezza sampler platters so we were able to sample 10 different dishes between the two of us. What a culinary delight!More

Food was nice but way overpriced. Portions are miserable. As a result I won't be back. Better options available.

This is the best and freshest food in Derry. Food is amazing and nice mellow vibe to the place. I highly recommend Cedar and urge people who haven’t had Lebanese food to give it a try. BYO so you don’t pay mega bucks for crap...wine in like you do in other Derry restaurants.More

Fantastic meal and service last night in Cedar. Food was amazing and very tasty. We started with the sharing board and then had lamb and sea bass mains. Best sea bass I've ever had with a delicious olive and peppers topping. The waitress was very...knowledgeable and the chef Simon came out to meet diners at the end of the evening. You can BYO wine/beer. We will definitely be backMore

First time visiting and have to say I feel awful giving a bad review as the staff were lovely but the food was disappointing not the flavour it was delicious but the price and portions were very expensive and not worth it I came home...hungry I ordered 3 cold selections and 2 hot they wouldn’t have filled a toddler it was basically 5 tiny pots with olives humus bread etc but it cost £17 and on the menu I thought was £9 but was told no that was a starter portion (there is no way u can charge £17 for what I was served it’s outrageous)so definitely was not worth the money at all also my husband ordered mixed meats again very small portion for £18, I was so excited to try the restaurant but wasn’t impressed and won’t return there a lot of other better venues in Derry for better value for moneyMore

My friend and I dined at this wonderful restaurant last night. The Meze was delicious - a combination of hot and cold dishes. Best taboulleh ever! We both the thoroughly enjoyed the main courses. Delicious kofte and lamb skewers. Almond rice is excellent. The restaurant...is byo . It has a lovely ambiance . Definitely going back.More

We came as a group of 6 and we all agreed how wonderful our experience was from start to finish. We were a group who had all lived in the middle east for years and reuniting here brought back wonderful memories. The food was authentic...and truly delicious, and the ambience and service was perfect. Top class everything and very reasonably priced. We all can’t wait to come back!More

I dined here recently and was stung by the woefully inadequate meal I received and at an inflated prices. I have lived in the Middle East and my expectations where higher than what was on offer at Cedar. It was going to take more than...bland pseudo Lebanese food and cheap background atmospherics to satisfy me. The prices charged were outrageous given the ingredients served up did not cost more than £3.50 to source from M&S or Sainsbury’s. So the prices charged were for the chief’s skills despite the meal tasting overcooked and bland. It seemed to this diner that the food had been prepared not by an authentic Lebanese chief but by someone who was attempting what is believed to be authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. The inflated bill was asked for without blushing. A truly awful experience.More
