Really hungry after a busy day on my feet and was recommended Scalini; first impressions were a jaded and grubby looking restaurant with indifferent staff. Asked for a Lime and lemonade but got a lime and soda; staff were too busy chatting to each other for me to fuss and I was too thirsty not to drink this too. Regular... More

Visited recently and had a pizza. Was very nice however service could have been slightly better. My friend ordered another drink and it never came.

Recommended by the hotel we were staying at and it was a great choice. Food as good as when you are in Italy. Food came hot and expertly prepared in a timely fashion. This place was packed and I can see why. Reasonable prices as well.

This place is by far the most fantastic Italian restaurant I've ever been to. It was packed the the rafters yet their service was brilliant and the pizza was the best pizza I've ever had. And the staff were just so friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. If I'm ever in Belfast again I will definitely come back.

I discovered this little gem of a restaurant while out walking in Belfast. I saw a couple of different couples park their cars and go in that made me notice this place! The menu posted outside made my mouth water just reading it! I went in and the staff, food and atmosphere was way beyond anything I expected!

Food was very good. But the manageress is obviously wanting a career change! The words condescending and patronising spring to mind along with the distinct impression she would rather be somewhere else than having to fraternise with the customers. One of the taps in the gents toilet was not working and the hourly 'Checked by' sign in the toilets just... More

We called in one night with no booking, staff were friendly and arranged us a table quickly even though it was busy. There is a good choice of pizzas / pasta dishes on the menu as a well as a selection of other dishes so something for everyone. The food was lovely - we had a mix of pasta, pizza... More

We managed to get a table here yesterday evening (Sunday) without a booking. It’s absolutely beautiful inside – it was sunny and warm outside, which added to the atmosphere, with bright evening sunshine streaming in through the windows. We absolutely loved the décor, very Mediterranean in keeping with the Italian food. It was early evening, yet quite busy with families... More

Scalini is an Italian family run pizzeria restaurant in the heart of South Belfast & within walking distance of Queen's University & Botanic Gardens. Since opening in October 2001 its popularity has grown to become one of Belfast's favourite Italian eateries. A Mediterranean glow welcomes you on entering the doors of Scalini - not just in the warm ochre hue of the décor but also in the welcome from our friendly staff.
