Hands down one of my favourite places to eat in Belfast. Great selection of food and amazing steaks. Service is top notch, just make sure you book a table in advance to avoid disappointment!

This is a lovely pub and the food is super. The staff is really nice and fun! Worth a visit. It’s in a narrow road that looks like an alley but it’s full of character and accessible.

Had lunch here during my first day in Belfast. Had the 6pz steak and mashed potatoes with a nice cold pint. The meat was some of the best I’ve ever had, very tasty and perfectly cooked (just as I like it). The lovely lady who...More

So disappointed with our treatment. After our meal (already paid for) we moved to the bar area to make room for American visitors. We brought our wine bill with us and asked for gin and tonics. No problem but suddenly we were issued with a...More

Called here for a pint while the girls were shopping nearby and the smell of the food enticed us to stay for dinner after they returned. The buffet was extensive and very moderately priced. The main menu too was inexpensive. It's another of the traditional...More

Description
The Morning Star dates back to 1810 as a public house, but the building was here well before that! The entries were, and still are, the heartbeat of old Belfast. Located in an old romantic entry running between Ann Street + High Street, in the heart of Belfast City Centre. The Morning Star is easily identified by the superb Victorian sign hanging from a grandly exuberant iron bracket jutting out from the corner of the bar, one of the finest examples of its type around. We source all our beef, chicken, lamb and pork locally and most off our family farm. We serve award winning food in our restaurant and bar Monday to Sunday, with a focus on simplicity and promoting local produce. Our bars stock the best in spirits and we pride ourselves on our vast whiskey range. We also have local and international craft beers on tap along with the likes of the black stuff (guinness).
