I have had many great experiences here with my family and friends for both food and drinks however one night changed my opinion of the place. Myself and three friends visited here on Friday the 10th March. Downstairs bar was busy with people watching rugby therefore we were told by a member of staff that there were seats upstairs. We... Drinks service could be a bit quicker. Food in general very good, would recommend squid starter and the steak or fish as a main. The piri piri roast chicken was extremely dry and stringy and almost inedible. Service in general was a bit slow and they weren't overly busy for a Wed evening. Wrong side order was brought for one... More

The Chelsea was busy last night with upstairs booked for a wedding, but we called in at about 4pm and the staff reserved us a table. They weren't taking orders for food until 7.30pm to allow the kitchen to deal with the wedding but the staff on the floor downstairs were attentive and the wait was a good excuse to... More

Three adults and a four year old in the party Chicken Curry, Steak and a Lamb and Chickpea stew all agreed there meals were faultless. The child eating from the children's menu was able to mix and got chicken goujons and sausage. The service was good and although the restaurant was closed upstairs there was minimum fuss. Will definitely be... More

Evening food with family and friend. Very nice pasta special with meatballs and spicy tomato sauce. Chicken skewers good too. Decent range of drinks on offer. Reasonably quiet background music, so conversation possible, unlike some establishments. Nice comfy seating, and bar uncrowded. Good service, though a bit slow bringing bill when requested. Good for an evening out, eating respectable, middle... More

Saturday night was my first time here but it certainly won’t be my last. We managed to get a table for 12 on Saturday night so a birthday meal and everyone was really impressed with everything at the Chelsea. To start off Terry looked after us incredibly well and manging to do little things which helped the evening such as... More

I booked the upper floor for my mums 70th birthday party and from initial contact with The Chelsea to the time we were pouring ourselves out the door, I was impressed. The venue itself is beautiful and the food supplied for the party was excellent but it's the staff that really make it top class. Nothing was too much trouble... More

I ate here last night with 11 friends and it was super! They had reserved us a lovely area and there was a really trendy city vibe about this busy but chilled wine bar! Our food was outstanding and reasonably priced! The staff and especially the manager could not have done more for us. I'll be back! Thank you !

Hadn't been to the a Chelsea for a while but it seems to have developed multiple personalities; a big TV showing football on one wall, an overly loud singer on the other side; less seating & a bit of a belief that it's a gastro pub. What does it wantbto be? Food was decidedly average & theres a very limited... More
