Came here on recommendation from friends and it didn’t disappoint.
We went for the Fuoco menu and there were so many delicious courses. Loved that the chef came out to explain the dishes.
All the staff were lovely.
Would love to return.
My favourite restaurant in the world and that is no exaggeration or understatement. We dined tonight to a preordered 4 course fine dining meal. However the number of extra courses and palette cleansers are delectable. The food is fantastic.
The atmosphere and venue is amazing....The staff are fastidious and they cater to your every need as if you are the only diner.
The chef is passionate and personally presents and enthusiastically describes every course. Each course is mouthwatering. Time is definitely needed to fully taste and explore the food.
I have already booked for our next wonderful experience.More
Stunning food and service. Passionate and entertaining cooking, excitingly presented, bursting with wonderful flavour combinations. Highlights were many but the foie gras with pickled walnut chutney and seeds was delicious; beef with a julienne of vegetables on artichoke.had us purring ..... and the smoking chocolate...dessert ......well just go yourselves!
Very reasonably priced for what was three hours plus of culinary entertainment. I had to drive so was forced to watch as the well chosen paired wines slipped down on the other side of the table. Still, there will be other times, we will be going back for sure.More
One of the best restaurant I’ve ever visited, surprised it hasn’t been included on the Michelin guide. We preordered the 4 course taster menu but were pleasantly surprised to receive multiple amuse bouches. Extremely unique and interesting crockery and cutlery (bread served in a ceramic...hand!). Service was brilliant, chef hand delivery and described every course, sommelier had every gadget under the sun for aerating and opening the wine. Highly recommend a visit!More
We (hubby and I) had a meal on Friday 13/11 after booking at short notice following reopening after the firebreak lockdown. Booking was an easy experience, I had emailed to enquire about availablity and had a response in a timely manner, this was followed by...a call to ask us to submit meal choices prior to the day as they had removed the paper menus to avoid risk of Covid.
The venue, though small, is very pleasant and well cared for. The staff were very pleasant and approachable. They were very attentive and made sure we didn't have to pour our own water etc, this was refreshed regularly which was a nice touch.
We had booked one of the 4 course tasting menus, and had submitted our choices a day or so beforehand by email.
The meal was outstanding, we had several amuse bouches prior to the chosen courses along with palate cleansers in between and petit fours afterwards. Each meal was explained by the head chef which was a pleasant surprise.
The food was very fresh, very tasty and we will definitely be returning for another meal. We have eaten at many Michelin starred venues and this was a better meal than I have had at some.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and the price is more than reasonable for a tasting menu and I would say they could charge more and it would still be good value.
We will definitely return. Hopefully the menus are changed regularly to allow us to do this.More
The food and service were exceptional
Sergio the head chef and part owner explained every course
One runs out of superlatives as each dish was a masterpiece of the culinary art beautifully presented
We all agreed it was the best meal we had ever had...anywhere!
Can’t wait to go againMore
Just back from one of the best meals/ dining experiences we have ever had. I don't think it can be bettered.
We both had the Fuoco menu; a 4 course meal which was fabulous. I am gluten intolerant - no problem, my meal was subtly...amended to take this into account without fuss. The service was discreet but attentive and friendly.
Each course came and was served with the flourish it deserved; the chef explaining what each item was but not delaying our enjoyment with over elaborate description.
We were intrigued and delighted by each item. It was wonderful food and theatre.
Please if you enjoy great food and would like one of the most amazing evenings visit this wonderful restaurant.More
We knew we wanted to go to Gem 42, as we had enjoyed a meal here earlier this year (following 1st lockdown). The whole experience is one of wonderful tastes from the use of so many tantalising ingredients to create dishes that are out of...this world, absolute creativity with style and depth not only culinary but artistically.
As it was my Sister's birthday, there was no other place we would venture to celebrate. We knew that the taster menu would offer delicious choices, which it certainly did for all of us, vegetarian and meat eaters alike. The lightness of the foods with subtle flavours is truly something to savour.
To Sergio, Pascale, Theresa, Anna Rita and team, thank you again. Your immense love of food and care of your customers is truly valued. Good Wishes to you all, Marian, Bridie, Paddy, Michael and TrishxMore
