Really disappointed with the quality of the food. Overpriced. If you want a good hearty meal, this is not the place for you.

Where do I start? The moment Me and my family walked through the door the waitress was extremely friendly and had very good manners, she kindly asked us to write our name and number down so I did. She politely asked us if we would...like to sit down inside or out she offered us a food menu and took us to the beer garden to our table she took our drinks order we didn’t have to wait at all very much appreciated. After she took our drinks order she came out 4-5 minutes later after seating another table. She brought our drinks out and asked us if we could take our drinks off the tray because of COVID-19 and took our food order 15-20 minutes later she brought out our food my husband ordered a “ponty burger” it had two beef burgers, bacon, salad and cheese it tasted AMAZING!! My son ordered a pepperoni pizza perfectly cooked wasn’t overly cooked and tasted amazing, My daughter had the kids chicken nuggets and chips with the choice of beans or peas the chicken nuggets were real chicken and was very tasty according to my daughter lol 😂, she wouldn’t stop talking about it, Massive credits to the chef. I am unsure why the past reviews are so negative we had the best time there between the excellent service and the Amazing 🤤 food that we ordered. Definitely WILL go back there soon hopefully stick with the nice lovely weather 🥰More

Sorry. Totally agree with negative reviews. No pre-booking needed. Not busy. However, a very long and very muddled wait to eventually be served dreadful food and flat shandies/cider drinks. Would recommend standing in line for Y Stablau first. P.S. The little chip shop across the...road was indeed doing a roaring trade. 😉More

A truely awful experience. We only called in for a drink but we were greeted by grubby tables, a mountain high of empty glasses stacked on the bar, bar staff who really didn’t care whether we were there or not, a landlord who was too...busy to serve us and to top it off...hardly any beer. Admittedly it had been a busy weekend but no beer? Poor planning in my view...and then we were charged for a pint of coke...which was actually a can into a pint glass with 3/4 of a glass full of ice. Avoid!More

After a very long walk Swallow Falls, and stopping at the hotel of the same name up the hill (only to find they finished serving food just 10 mins after we got there at 3.10pm - when it says they serve food “all day”), we...ventured downhill into Bettws-y-coed for food. Bear in mind we’d been doing a strenuous walk up and down dale - we’re both in our 50’s - and were looking to a decent meal. We had a lovely welcome when we got here, and were served with drinks very quickly. We’d ordered food at the same time as the drinks. 50 mins later, my wife noticed that people who arrived 40 mins after us, had been served with their drinks and full meals. So I went to the bar and asked how long our food would be? They couldn’t find my order, yet the waitress remembered what I had ordered! The food wasn’t going to happen! I got an apology from the gentleman who brought our drinks, but nothing from the waitress or the lady taking the money at the til. Lovely place but please don’t wait for your food for more than 20 mins. We just thought they were busy - they actually weren’t THAT busy. Wouldn’t have been fair to mark much lower - people make mistakes and businesses are trying to get back on their feet. I respect that, hence 4*More

We went out as a falimly for the first time in a year after lockdown and thought this place looked nice. We ordered 2x egg ham and chips one with cheesy chips instead of normal chips, a child's chicken nuggets chips and beans, garlic bread...no cheese, pint of coke no ice, j2o and kopperberg. After waiting a little while (not too long) our order started to come out of the kitchen. 1 egg ham and chips, child's meal garlic bread WITH cheese and cheesy chips, when we asked where the other adults meal was we found out it hadn't even been written down and it would be another 5 minutes before it was ready. 5 minutes passed and both myself and son had almost finished our meal (still waiting for the pint of coke) after 10 minutes and still no meal we decided to call it a day. We got the bill were charged for 1 egg ham chips, gaclic bread and cheesy chips (which they returned to the kitchen) and 3 drinks with the bill still came to nearly £25! All the while the 2 waitresses were bickering at the bar for all too see and the woman behind the bar had no idea what was happening and had no problem in letting customers know! Will definitely NOT be returning I can however recommend the chip shop over the road where we popped into to get my husband something to eat!More

Just returned from a last minute night away with my partner and children. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We felt very welcome and the owner went out of his way to make sure my children had everything they wanted....The room was directly opposite a waterfall which was beautiful. The breakfast was lovely and very filling too. We weren't rushed out in the morning either which is always a bonus when you have children to shower and get ready. Will definitely be returning again soon.More

Me and my partner went for a Sunday roast after we went for a lengthy walk round the area, the pub faces a lovely waterfall. We had a lovely roast dinner with plenty of options, the staff and hosts were very down to earth and...helped gave us some good places to visit! Me and my partner have been talking about staying at the hotel which is attached to the pub once everything is back to normal and Covid friendly! Thanks for a lovely afternoon guys!More

We had yet another cosy welcome at the Ponty-pair-in. After wandering around snowdon hoping to find this gem open, it was! This was a welcomed warm pits stop, we took our 75 year old mum who loved the Sunday roast so much were coming back...tomorrow. This hotel has become are go to place for accommodation and now our favourite for Sunday lunches. We had a warm friendly welcome as always from Sue, Colin & Chris..... See you all hopefully tomorrow.
