We stayed for three nights here in early December. Our room (9b) was beautiful, it had a gorgeous four poster bed with gorgeous linen, a brilliant spa bath and a great coat feel! We ate in the restaurant every night and enjoyed each meal thoroughly....Despite everything going on at the moment it was the best stay and we felt very comfortable. The breakfast was good and we will be staying again! Only a short walk into the village and short drives from lakes and walks. All staff were brilliant and a special thank you to Martin and Anthea xMore

Just a 10 minute walk from our hotel had the best food from our 4 days away . We each had 2 courses and couldnt decide what was best but I think the lamb was king. If we return we would actually try and stay...here just for a night in the restaurant aloneMore

Staying in Betws for a week but we do live in North Wales , so have passed 100’s of times. Booked a table over the phone easily. Nice welcome and a real old world charm, real fire and the Christmas decs made it feel really...warm. “The meal”, wow, amazing food. My wife started with pate and I had Prawn Marie Rose, both were fabulous. For main course I had the Seabass and my wife had the Seafood grattan. So much flavour , fresh fish and cooked perfectly. If you can still do a sweet , have the Ginger pudding , just superb 😍 One of the best meals we’ve “ever” had, well come again.More

Comparing versus our last visit in 2015, Covid had taken away some of the ambience. Choice of food and drink seemed a bit limited compared with before. Food was mostly very good, but my partner and I thought the mash (cheese and potato gratin) was...a little on the bland side - not quite the kick we expected. Service was good, efficient and respectful. Price was reasonable too. pretty good considering the restrictions that the staff have to work to.More

Had a four night stay, bed and breakfast, and four evening meals. Just brilliant in every respect, warm welcome, fantastic breakfast and evening meals. Anthea, I think the manager, was so helpful and friendly, a real star. We had a suite, with en suite which...had a spa bath so very luxurious. Very clean well furnished room. Highly recommended.More

We had an evening meal here. It was really lovely. Staff were very friendly. This hotel kept to rigid rules regarding Covid. The atmosphere was great. Wish we had stayed the night here but booked at another hotel previously. Don’t ask cause it was shocking....The only negative thing was the price of the drinks, way to expensive, but overall it was a charming oldy-worldly hotel. We loved it.More

I have booked in advance for a certain dish on more than one occasion now, but sadly, on both occasions, on arrival they haven’t bothered getting it. One occasion was on my Birthday. I hadn’t told them this as i didn’t want any fuss or...preferential treatment; but being told they couldn’t find a shoulder of lamb in Wales with a week’s notice was a bit difficult to imagine; not to mention very disappointing. The food, i can’t fault- which is why we have returned; but they could make a little effort customer- service wise.More
