The sign outside said come in sit by our cosy fire. It must have been put there by mistake. The fire was burning, but only just. Looked like they'd run out of logs. The bar area was very cold and not at all cosy. But the room was warmer than the welcome we and other vistors got. The best I... More

We called in after a nice walk from Rhydd Du. Landlord got the fire going and we had good afternoon chatting with other visitors who popped in for a drink.

Spent a couple of evenings here having a pint and food on one evening.. Dogs are welcome so that was a plus. The barman was hard to describe. You never seemed to know if you were welcome or not and seemed to prefer the local company rather than us tourists.. The beer was very good and a well kept pint... More

went in here for an evening drink with family. It still amuses us that the evening meal is during a very set time limit (7-8.30) and you are not really allowed to see the menu before 7pm - well that's what it seems like. We didn't eat there this time. Various dos and donts notices around the place. But good... More

Popped in for a quick pint mid walk. Nice clean bar area. Decent Choice of beers and quick service- pretty much everything you'd want from a mountain pub!

For a base in Snowdonia this pub hotel was perfect! Adequate family room with separate bedrooms. Unexpected included self service breakfast of toast and cereals. Pub grub available with fancier menus available at alternative venues within walking distance. No airs or graces. Lovely location to return to each evening after a day of touring or walking.

Stopped off to meet some friends en-route to another hotel in the village. Ownership or management seems to have changed as it is all bright now after being quite dark for a number of years. Decent beers, reasonably priced but the service is oh so slow.......

Stopped for dinner on a rainy night after driving for hours and what a great choice. Proper pub. Proper pub food! Massive chunk of gammon, 2 eggs, too many chips to eat, and some of that green stuff they put on the side. Exactly what good pub food should be. 2 very happy customers with very full bellies!

Having been to the village earlier in the week and seeing this picturesque pub we decided to go back after a trip up Snowdon to have a meal. The barman was surly and the food quality was reminiscent of the one and only time I had the misfortune of eating at ikea about 20 years ago..... Enough said!
