Stumbled upon this lovely pub by chance (as the Chainbridge Pub near our campsite didn't serve food Sunday's or Monday's). Initially came for a drink, but recommendations from other customers and a look at the menu convinced us to come back the next day for dinner. We were rewarded by a lovely meal and great service. A lovely country pub,... More

A picturesque country pub, which had a renowned reputation under the previous owner. The setting is lovely, the welcome friendly, clientele were chatty and happy, service was prompt - just the food was a bit average. Crab cakes were thin did it feel home made and lacking taste. Home made steak and ale pie has generous, the flavour s bit... More

Had the special boards crap fishcakes, I have not seen fishcakes like these before they looked like they had been deep fried several times and when I finally managed to cut them open it was filled with a thin paste of what I only presume is crab paste. We did decide to have a desert and asked for the sticky... More

Me and the Mrs found ourselves off work on the same day, with no childcare responsibilities, and, not knowing what to do with ourselves, we said, let's go out for lunch. The last time I was in this place was about 20 years ago, when a neighbouring building was the old Gwent County Council training department. It was rubbish. I... More

5 of us went for lunch, it was my first time, it was very quiet but still had atmosphere. The staff were polite and friendly. The menu has something for everyone from sandwiches, jacket potatoes to steaks. The desserts sounded great but unfortunately we were to full to try them, maybe next time as we will be returning.

Recommended to us by relations, we booked in here for Sunday Lunch. The staff were extremely accommodating and made us really welcome. We both had the Sunday Roast. My husband chose the Sirloin of Beef and I had the Pork, both meals were absolutely delicious. The range of vegetables that accompanied the meal were cooked beautifully and we thoroughly enjoyed... A lovely country pub in beautiful surroundings, we visited here for dinner with our 8 year old son and received a very warm welcome. Our starters arrived promptly, along with our son's meal. We ordered bacon and black with beetroot relish and the goats cheese tartlet, both of which were beautifully presented and quite delicious. Our mains of chicken and... More

Our first visit to this little pub and we received a nice warm welcome. A good pint of beer and a varied menu on offer. The food as others have said is really nice, tasty, hot and very well presented. I wish we had been staying longer so we could have had the opportunity to visit again. We gained a... More

We had a lovely meal at the Foxhunter. Food was excellent and so was the service. We were visiting family who live close by, so we'd definitely like the return.

We are in Pont Kemys with our motor home and saw that the Foxhunter was 30 mins walk away. I have rarely be so impressed by a Sunday Lunch. It was more than worth the walk. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming to us and our small dog who was allowed in the bar area. We had booked one... More
